This is just the beginning!  The Plume is growing in intensity offshore of MKE...Looks like a lot of us on here in Cook/Lake county are going to get surprise snows from this event.  Isn't that just the way this winter has been???  Very excited we can all reep the rewards from this LES event.

Dominick, how much do you have so far???  I bet your going to get 8-12" by tomorrow morning.

Just measured 1.5"

Close to 2 inches. Ripping like crazy outside. What a surprise this is turning out to be! I can't imagine waking up to a surprise foot.

Looks like the lake band is near stationary right now over Lake Michigan.  I don't think its going to push much farther west from this point on.  Maybe another couple miles or so.  So whoever is under it right now is going to sit pretty for the next few hours.  If your in the city, its going to be a longggg night!

Flake size and intensity did come up a little here. Would be nice if it came a couple miles closer. Going to watch this until about 12.

Doesn't look like the band will back any further west.

1.8" here as of 11pm.

Looks great for Cook County and even eastern DuPage.

I am closing in on over 3 inches. It's a bit drifty and visibilities less than quarter mile. A few more hrs of this I possibly could crack 6 inches before it moves over city probably around 06z-07z. Sorry I cannot take photos of this epic surprise. Camera unexpectedly not working.

This is hands down the heaviest I have seen it snow in my entire life!  I took a cruise and just came back to upload some photos.  The snow is absolutely just pouring out of the sky like in a Thunderstorm.  I just measured exactly 1.5" in the last hour.  Snow is just beyond beautiful out there.  I'm going to walk around my neighborhood and take it all in.  I'm speechless right now.

In these pics, the visibility I would say was 1/8 mile to at times only 100 feet!

Looks like that is going to be it for me...finished off with 3.5".  Not bad at all.  It was very intense for 2-3 hours.  Looks like the band is not moving anywhere anytime soon.  If you look at the radar, the plume isn't moving anywhere and staying put out over Lake Michigan.

Anyone east of I-294 in Cook county is getting creamed right now!  Man, I've never seen it just pour fat flakes from the sky when I was underneath that band around 11:15pm.  It was incredible.  Sometimes I wish I lived in Lake Effect snow belt areas just to experience this kind of snowfall all winter long.  Living up in the UP of Michigan is like this almost every week.  This year they have over 150" of snow!
