10/25-10/27 Winter Storm & Cold Snap

I think this is my first event topic, so we'll see how this goes 😬 The main potential looks to be for members west of the MS river. Even OK and TX may get in on some action later on. Can Lincoln get 3 Octobers in a row with accumulating snow?

Good luck, I have a 100% success rate with storm threads.

The icon makes no sense... unless the Platte River is that much of a player in cutting off precip. I would say the euro has the better handle of the storm; the gfs would be too good to be true. Honestly hoping for the euro.....I have two rows of potatoes to dig and a garden to clean up! Must say though, if this week is a precursor of this years LRC we are all sitting pretty!

It appears this system will be a nothingburger for east-central/southeast Iowa.  Frankly, that is fine with me.  I'd rather save the rest of our snow for winter.  Let others, farther west, get in on the action.

I always forget the Euro has a 6z and 18z now. Are they very reliable?

My .02 is not as well as 0 and 12z.

The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

6z GFS with it's best run for my neck of the woods, seems to push the cold air further south and east.

This snow can stay away from here. We just had snow on Monday. It would be perfectly fine with me if we don't get anymore snow until late November or early December.

The snowiest October in Cedar Rapids was October 1997 so it looks like that record will stand.

Quite funny GFS turning the storm into pretty much nothing, and now the Euro says hey wait a minute.

Can’t remember when exactly, but the GFS-Euro switcharoo 2-3 days out has happened a few times in the past couple years.
