snowstorm83
My neighborhood is a sheet of ice. Main streets are mostly fine but side/residential are crap, no surprise there. Though I did see a crashed car on 27th street, so there's that. Looks like we'll get some mood flakes this afternoon, but I doubt there will be any additional accumulation. Way more of Feburary than October look out there today. Snow this early is usually gone as soon as it stops falling. 4 Quote Snowfall in Lincoln, NE: 2017-18: 21.4" 2018-19: 55.5" 2019-20: 17.6" 2020-21: 49.4" 2021-22: 5.1" Average: 26"

If we are comparing an early snowfall like last year then it's not a good sign because I remember what happened after the Halloween snow...not much of a winter after that. Hopefully this year is different and DJF are better months.

Been thinking about Oct snows and Tbh Oct 2013 was the last measurable here in Marshall. Even Nov is likely only a 50/50 shot with long stretches of snowless Novembers a reality (just 1.2" avg). Seeing how our autumn is running ahead of average I looked at my 7 yrs of personal data and surprisingly Nov snow is the new norm with 5 of 7 having significant totals. While WxBell's current analog set would call for an AN to much AN Nov, I'm thinking that would be a bit out of place against what we've seen the past two months. JB did say he is holding 3 other analogs in the wings depending on how October went and I think they all featured colder November's here. I am looking forward to his next update but as of now I'm thinking odds favor at least some measurable ❄ for SMI next month. Minny_Weather
Albuquerque averages measurable October snow about once every five years.
