I got rid of mine years ago... No need other than maybe 2 events in a season. Doesn't earn the space/maintenance.

I’m starting to think that way. It might make more sense to pay someone when it actually snows, which varies by the year. Going to need a massive pattern change in this region for any significant winter storms.

Definitly time to flip this pattern.  NWS KC

Thru the first 24 days of this month...Nov 2020 stands as the 10th warmest on the 133-year record for KC. It has been 6.6 degrees above normal. With a cooler stretch to end the month (after Thanksgiving) we will drop on that list.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  This year has been an unusual one, but as we celebrate the holiday today, I am ever so grateful to be alive, healthy and have such amazing family and friends....of course, I'm also grateful for all of you on here that contribute each and every day.

First off Happy Thanksgiving!   With a mean temperature of 45.3 Grand Rapids is on track for one of the warmest Novembers in recorded history. At this time GR is in the 5th spot. It was a mild overnight and the official low at GRR was 41 and here at my house it was 42. and that 42 is the current temperature both here and out at the airport. I recorded another 0.33" of rain fall yesterday.

Yes, happy Thanksgiving everyone! It is a bright day here today with a temp of 41*F. Have a roast going in the crock pot and I'm just about to start on the sides.

Sounds yummy. 46 degrees, but a north wind has a bite to it. My mother in law made turkey and ham with mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife made her famous green bean casserole and my daughter made the stuffing. Pumpkin pie filled in the spaces as my late mother used to say.

Happy Thanksgiving. Just got off work, a lot more to-go orders than people actually dining in. I took a peek at the 12z GFS...not surprised to zero precip for the entire run.

My daughter and I took advantage of the great weather today and put Christmas lights on the house.  I am getting old so I was happy to have the help.  Mother nature may add to the seen soon if the Euro and CMC are correct.

I love seeing the holiday lights dressed over your town...there's something that I enjoying seeing from a small town in rural America...I'd like to see this same shot by the time Christmas/New Year's rolls around this year when there is snow OTG!

The cold core ULL that tracked overhead yesterday produced one of the coldest day time high temps in PHX of the season (66F).  It was a great day to spend some time in the jacuzzi and enjoy some vitamin D.  Prob do the same thing again today and enjoy some R&R.  BTW, we do have the furnace on here as it does get cold enough at night to flip it on.  It's odd to think that not long ago I was posting on here about record heat over and over and over!

The overnight low here at my house was 24 it looks like the official low at GRR was 27. The next system looks to miss west Michigan to the east. So while we stay mostly snow free areas to our east could see a few inches of snow fall from this system. At this time it is clear and 25 here. With 3 more days to go the mean at Grand Rapids for this November is now at 45. That is a departure of +4.3° At this time Grand Rapids is on track to have its 5th warmest November of record. So far only 0.4" of snow has fallen

Attm, its 31F under partly cloudy skies. Looks to be another excellent sunny day today, but the only exception is clouds will be rolling on in as the storm approaches. Overall dry and great to do any activities outside, i.e, decorations, cleaning and etc.

It now looks like the at least the first week of December will be dry here in west Michigan. There will be snow on the east side of the state but not here. At this time the clouds have moved and the current temperature here at my house is now at 47. The official high for today looks to be 50 so another well above average day. That 50 will be a tie for the 18th warmest November 29 in Grand Rapids recorded history. If it made it up to 51 that would put it at the 15th warmest.

What a gorgeous afternoon it was. Played a little basketball today, if you can believe that at this time of the year w temps flirting w 50F. Felt great shooting some hoops right after a real hard work-out in my basement gym. Also, I was going to grill too afterwards, but was in the mood for Chinese food and some red wine.

My favorite for a quick dinner.....but, I am a little nip picky, (it has to be the correct sauce, spicy w extra parmessan cheese and added pepper w a splash of olive oil on top of all that) along w red wine and garlic bread (2 pieces only).

No snow here. But there are reports of snow on the ground to the east at Lansing and on radar there is either snow or rain over Lake Michigan heading south.  At this time it is cloudy and rather windy with a temperature of 33. As of this morning Grand Rapids has only reported 0.4" of total snow fall for this season. The current mean temperature for November is now at 4.6  this month will end up being at least the 7th warmest November of record at Grand Rapids.

We will then end up in a fairly quiet long wave pattern that will
persist into next weekend. The pattern will be split, with one
trough/low to our NE, and the other well to our SW. We will end up
under the region of ridging in between, with average to slightly
above average temps. In addition, there is a decent chance we see a
fair amount of sunshine by early December standards.
