Powerful secondary low rushing northward. Top-tier pressure falls. But this has a one-in-fifty shot of actually occuring, so it won't happen.....

Might have to make it out to Discovery Park if the NAM keeps showing this. Immediate bursts of strong wind are so exciting!

Interesting that the NAM is the main one showing strong wind other models don’t look too crazy.

This is a map of maximum wind speeds within 250m of the surface from the WRF. I hadn't looked at this before (I think it's a relatively new product), but I assume that this above-ground layer is where we get our strongest gusts from? Anyone know?

Yeah we do have an easier time of it.

Power lines are underground for us as well, so more often than not when we lose power it’s due to an equipment failure at a substation.  Also I live right next to a fire station, and I am assuming they get a little priority when it comes to getting the lights back on.  Kinda bummed I will be “in the dungeon” at work tomorrow so I won’t really get to watch the storm.

I hated that when I worked for Costco!  Into box while wild weather happened outside.  So many times I had to escape my department for a fake bathroom break to look out the entrance doors for a weather check.

February 2019 was a pretty sleepless month.

It takes a storm like Jan 3-4 2017 to keep me wide awake the whole night. I remember being up until 4am sipping cabernet during that, got 3 hours of sleep but I paid for it the next afternoon ;)

We get so many snows, in Feb 2019 I counted as many as 20 days I observed sticking snow.
Gotta get SOME sleep!

I remember those days when I worked in machine and sheet metal shops.....no windows in those either but we did have big bay doors so that helped a bit. Torture!

That would frustrate me so badly! All of my jobs until my current one was working outside in the elements, and with my current job I am not tied to my office chair and have the flexibility to go outside anytime...Also my office window is big and can glance up from the monitor and look right out...I am truly spoiled haha!

3 tall pines in our yard that could one day smash the 1996 Jeep Cherokee.. But they've survived this many decades so far. I think we peaked 70 in the Columbus Day Storm, if it were 80-90 we might not have these trees.

Up to 64F. Record high for the date is 71F so we won't quite get there but with only getting down to 49F overnight, we are looking at a double-digit + temp departure. I doubt we have a below-normal temp month for a very long time.

Bit nervous for the homes and businesses along the waterfront near Birch Bay. With some models showing Whatcom County and the San Juans catching some of the stronger winds, and King Tides starting tomorrow through Thursday, it could get bad.

Don't know if anyone rembers this video from a couple years ago, but I believe the restaurant reopened again not too long ago. And I'm sure this year hasn't been too kind with COVID restrictions and access to their primary customer base (Canadians) cut off.

It looks like the first possible snow occurs Tuesday, November 24th 1-11 PM with an Anafront setup, so definitely a bit iffy as you know. Then the second shot Wednesday, November 25th 3-7 AM. IF this transpired you would get dumped on. C'MON!!!!
