It actually cools down there at night. We never get really high and dry so a good inversion is going to be hard to pull off. The good news is La Nina Novembers have a rich history of providing disappointing patterns. They can have a couple of feet of snow on the ground rather easily and even see severe thunderstorms in the summer. I could easily live in Gary, IN. Lake effect snow squalls all winter on the east side and a legit severe weather season from April-July. IIRC they avg ~ 1 derecho per year and at least a half dozen QLCS’s. They get 200+ frosts a year on average and it can freeze any day of the year, even in July and August.
