Low of 44 this morning no precipitation yet. Today’s system will  be our last wet active weather for a bit based on the models. Nws says isolated thunderstorms are possible as well today so hopefully we go out with a bang.

Just had a random gust from out of nowhere that blew that tarp off our patio furniture pile, and now there's nothing.

Very strange.

I would say from memory the inversion standard for December in modern times is December 2005. What are some other classic December inversions? I know December 1985 was working with some real cold, but it seems pretty inversiony looking at the data at least.

The majority of December 1985 was a huge ridge. It was aided by the eastside snowcover and low level arctic air at the start of the month that was only modestly scoured out. On December 19 for example if was 24/20 at Hood River and 60/28 at Government Camp.

2nd year driver in December 93 and driving my dads baby...An 89 S10 Blazer fully loaded Sport addition that he would wash twice a week! Thought I would get fancy on a frosty road to show off with a friend in the car, and ended up in a sizeable ditch! 4wd low range and about an hour hosing the mud off and getting all of the chunks of grass out from the front suspension and all was good! Only told him about that about 10yrs ago!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I was a freshman in December 2005 and remember that one. I noticed the golf course lakes freezing over on my walk home from school every day. I really enjoyed how cold that one got.

Was that around Christmas?

I vaguely remember being at the San Diego airport heading to Minnesota and there were lots of flight delays due to dense fog at PDX and SEA.

That was a fun one. Some of the most frozen I’ve seen the Gorge waterfalls. There was significant ice even on the edge of the Columbia out by Rooster Rock.

Ended with a very windswept mini snow event about a week before Christmas. Then we pretty much torched non-stop until the mid February arctic episode.

The common thread between all these persistent December inversion patterns is that they ALL invariably retrograded into massive western Arctic outbreaks.

If by all you mean none.
