I may end November with only 0.10" snow looks like. That's the least since, well have I ever had it that low?

Nice fat westerly surge just took out the power. Looks like gusts are only up near 40 mph here, but that seems like enough. Can’t remember the last time we lost power and we’ve certainly had stronger storms so there must have just been a dead tree or something over the lines.

On the other hand the sunset last night at the mouth of the Skagit was stunning.

Meanwhile just a few miles south there is hardly a breeze.

November snowfall totals since 2010 from most to least. So there was one drier than this year.
2014 had only a trace.

2010: 17.00"
2019: 6.50"
2011: 5.30"
2015: 4.00"
2016: 1.20"
2012: 0.70"
2017: 0.30"
2013: 0.30"
2018: 0.20"
2020: 0.10"
2014: T"

Pretty wild mixture of treatment November has had here in the 2010's.
I'll pull up a March list and it probably will average more. Interesting that March only averages 2.5" and Nov 4.0". I wonder if the new 1991-2020 averages switch these two around for my place. Believe it or not I have actually seen more snowstorms in March than in November in the time I've lived here.

March since 2011. (No personal snowfall info before Nov 2010)

2012: 15.20"
2019: 9.00"
2017: 5.60"
2011: 5.50"
2018: 4.80"
2020: 4.75"
2016: 3.10"
2013: 1.00"
2015: T"
2014: Wet"

Not only have I had more snowfall in March overall compared to November, there are a far higher number of days which I observe flakes falling or snow sticking. Impressive ones like 2011 seeing around 20 days, whether the snow was wet or solid.

March 2019 and 2012 featured a day where 6+ inches fell. On 03/10/2019 city schools actually closed, it's very rare for K-Falls schools to do that, the previous time that happened was 01/04/2017 when we had almost 2 feet on the ground.

Sometimes I think March is just getting snowier. November getting drier.

This is getting attention this morning in the Canadian forums, and since the maps therein show that the BC forecast will generally apply to WA and OR as well, figured it’s worth a share.
