I was clearing the sidewalk of leaves earlier and it had that feel to it. Thickening clouds on a dark afternoon with a biting, dry air. Reminded me of Jan 2012 before the big snow.

Reached a high of 43* at 2:25pm and currently raining and 41*

My old neighbor from Troutdale sent me a text saying his weather machine registered a high of 36* there today....nice!

Every member shows sticking snow there tonight, so I'm gonna guess they think BLI is at a higher elevation than it is.

43 / 25 here today.  Currently light rain and 38.  It would easily be snowing tonight if this were Dec, Jan, or early Feb.

Models count all snowflakes as sticking snow. So it could be 38F with a wet snowfall w/ nothing sticking, yet the models would show 4".

Technically, they're not wrong; as in if every snowflake were to accumulate, that's how much snow you'd have. But using snowmaps out of context is a great way to spread misinfo.

35 now and more lumps. Most likely a good rain/snow mix going on at my neighbors.

39 and rain here at 300’ in Tacoma. Very chunky though.

My daily average of 34 today was a whopping 27 degrees lower than Wednesday of last week.  That is a pretty crazy crash for this climate.   Furthermore the average temp here for the first 20 days of October was 55.2, while the average for the 20 days since Oct 20 is 44.6.  Quite an astonishing turnaround!

Down to 38°F but so far just cold rain. There are reports of wet snow and mixed precip not too far to the north of me on the Canadian forum.

Well, October is our month with the greatest temperature decrease.

The general rule of thumb is that the gray areas seldom see so much as the ground getting whitened. You have to be in the colored zones (2+") to have much hope of seeing anything on the ground. The official NWS forecast for KBLI doesn't even mention snow tonight. But this is Whatcom County, so surprises might happen!

I had gusty winds and the temp went from 41 to 37 as the precip started.  So far it seems to be all rain, but it is quite raw out tonight.

That is unless it's cold and limited moisture is the reason it's gray

Down to 37 here.  Very rare to see it precipitating with temps in the 30s this early in the season.

Drove to 800' in southeast Bellingham and got snowed on. I wonder if anything will stick up there. Just cold rain here at home.

Some wet snow here now... I also see snow on the Tiger Mountain cam at 1,300 feet.

I did not expect snow... looks like its a weak warm front.   ECMWF shows temps rising a little overnight as a SW breeze kicks in.

Wet snow in Lake Steven's. Rain/snow mix in Mill Creek.

If it was 2 degrees colder we would be getting dumped on right now.
