Yeah most of our soakers are from convection in the warm months. You would have been thrilled to see our one week in May 2013 we had 5 t'storm days in a row, and two of them (May 7th-8th) flooded downtown. Back then I used a cruddy camera but I have vids up from that.

The day 10 period or thereabouts looks a lot more interesting than earlier runs had indicated.  More potential for a chillier more active pattern.

It's going to take a surface low removed from the parent low to give us much in this area.  The track of the main low is not good for winds in Seattle.  The possible associated surface low spinning up SE of the parent low could have potential.

A very interesting study in contrasts when you compare the 500mb pattern since the big change on October 21st to the pattern during the same number of days before the change.  Quite a dramatic reversal.  For reference sake...you can see the center of the positive anomaly center since October 20 has been at 49N - 149W.  The sweet spot we are looking for this winter is about 55N - 155W.  Hopefully the longer wavelengths during the winter will put it closer to that.

Some pockets of advection fog appear to be forming over in parts of eastern Oregon as the warmer air passes over all that snow on the surface.

Seems like the off-hour runs of the Euro struggle a bit just like the GFS. The fluctuations with the 06z and 18z runs lately have been noticeable.

Uploaded a nice radar animation of this continuous barrage of rain in southern Oregon today.
15-16 hour straight rain in Klamath Falls. So far over >0.90" has fallen at the airport.

Possible. Although it also feels like a situation where nighttime decoupling and light offshore flow could mitigate things to a degree tomorrow. Tuesday looks like a better bet for 60+ with a more favorable setup for the warmth working its way to the surface, IMO.

Hoping someone else here has that info. Wunderground has gotten all screwed up and leaves those records blank.

Latest AFD is saying Medford is amazingly close to their daily record of 1.8".

Best not to put too much stock into one run either. If it’s a trend then it’s a problem.

It’s been nice to have typical November weather. The last 2 have been pretty meh this ones been much better but nothing crazy or out of the ordinary.
