I am a member of the John Deere lawn tractor forum on FB...There must have been about 20 posts of people on the east coast using their plow or snowblower attachment removing gobs of snow...A bit depressing.

Same story with subaru forums and videos of donuts in snow covered parking lots :(

Lots of rejoicing in Seattle and lots of moping in EUG, SLE, PDX, BLI, YVR.

Uh, we had a pretty good Feb in 2019 down this way...only the 2nd most snow in 72 hrs I can find on ACIS for here. Only topped by Jan 1969, which will never be broken in our lifetimes.

'Atta boy Tiger. I was hoping that one wouldn't slide.

I think Feb 2019 was decent in Vancouver, BC and Bellingham too. About the only places mentioned there that really got "screwed" were SLE and PDX, although even the east metro scored on night of 2/8. We got 4-5" out in east Vancouver.

If the Feb 2019 pattern happened in January, the general perspective on what is possible still would certainly be different right now.

As it is that was a very impressive month.  Of course it could still happen in January.

Time to sell your plow and snowblower attachments, it's probably our best chance at a decent winter with the way things are trending. Perhaps invest in a mud-removal attachment if you really want to seal the deal.

I think we've lost the chance for the lowland snow early next week.  The ECMWF had been showing baroclinicity with the system now it shows a low winding up and ruining the potential.  Would have been a nice bonus snow, but I don't think it's in the cards.

The chances are very good the winter will deliver...it's very early still.  Interestingly La Nina winters that deliver heavy snow on the East Coast usually smack us good later.

Gotta turn in early too sadly, up at 7AM and I don't want the seizures to hit. I doubt there will be much to see anyway.

It's battle time!

I don't know why but this one feels more 'full' like they had a bigger orchestra or something. BOTW's version feels more 'cheap' or crapped out. 🤢🤔🤔

After Day 10 much cooler/colder northwesterly onshore flow takes over which at times even leads to chilly offshore flow with potentially a good chunk of snow for the Gorge, Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington. I really would not mind if that's how the pattern were to progress. Very La Nina.

Amazing how lame the winters have become west of the cascades.  My buddy got so tired of it he just bought a beautiful place in Bozeman.  I love Washington so I'll be very satisfied in ne Washington.  My goal is have my home finished there for my 50th birthday.  2 years!!

3 out of the last 4 winters have actually been pretty good. This ones still in the beginning stages too. February 2019 wasn’t really that long ago.

For those looking for something similar to the now removed NWS radar sites... UW does have a couple links.   Not quite the same but its better than the new NWS radar site.

In the big picture there are fewer and fewer storms region wide. Not just talking snow either. The episodes of cold onshore flow has really decreased.

If we are comparing our winters to Montana then they will never measure up. Western Washington is easily one of the most beautiful places in the country.

The 2006-2012 period was very dynamic. The 8 years since have been better than the 8 years which preceded those years.
