If we are comparing our winters to Montana then they will never measure up. Western Washington is easily one of the most beautiful places in the country.

I agree on the beautiful part. I've been all over and the Olympic mountains are the most epic place on earth I've experienced.

In the big picture there are fewer and fewer storms region wide. Not just talking snow either. The episodes of cold onshore flow has really decreased.

Winter of 18-19 was probably one of the better ones in recent years. Had 3 big windstorms from late December to early January...very snowy February and early March. One of the more active winters in recent memory. 16-17 was pretty good too with multiple snow events and I think we had a decent windstorm in there at some point. 19-20 really sucked no windstorms and not much snow besides north of Everett but that didn’t even last too long. Still gotta give 20-21 a chance!

Another very mild morning here with a low of just 43. Currently overcast and 45.

Ended up with a 50/41 day yesterday with widely scattered showers. Pretty dull. Looking forward to some heavy rain at times this weekend followed by the big cool down early next week.

Probably a few 44/28 type days for SLE and EUG next week. SLE's average high so far this month is 49.9, it will briefly go over 50 this weekend, but will hopefully drop back below by the middle of next week. The small victories in our climate...

The new radar is absolutely crap. It looks like 1985 atari technology.

I wonder if there is a way to submit a public comment on how much the new radar set up SUCKS? I mean it is our tax dollars that are paying for this crap.

Gotta have those small victories. It is possible to enjoy a warming climate still, even for a cold lover. Every day give yourself a little present Andrew. Like that SLE nugget.

Looking forward to being able to contribute to the forum again.  This has been the busiest last 6 months of my life, been working 12 hours 6 days a week to keep up with our work load. Also our biggest year in sales since we opened in 1989.

That's awesome. The last 6 months have also been the busiest and most profitable at my business.

Not everything economically has been crushed by the pandemic.

12z is a stellar run for Cascade and even some foothill snow at times, over the next 7-10 days.

Are we looking at the same thing?

It looks like a pattern where the snow level could dip lower than 2,000 at times. There are more foothills than just your foothills ;)

Doesn’t look like a great mountain snow pattern over the next 10 days.

I woke up this morning with 128 new posts overnight. I was hoping for an incredible model shift. Instead it was a bunch of garbage discussion.

Why even post here if that’s the case? If you’re so much better than us and the discussion why even bother being here right?

I actually thought the discussion last night was really good. Even really appreciate this more introspective incarnation of Jesse.

I’m not sure how you took that as me implying that I am better than anyone. This is a weather forum, in a thread about current weather when there is a lot of action, often it means weather excitement. This however was not the case and was instead a letdown.

i have been guilty of it plenty, no need to take it personally.

I was just basing my comment off of the snow map on pivotal, through day 10. Looked like 40 or so inches over Hood. Run definitely goes to crap after that though, not nearly as good as the long range 06z.

Long range ensembles are about the same though. Wettish and a little below average temp wise.

I don’t take anything personally here. Nobody here even knows my real name...I don’t know most people’s names here either. However I do get annoyed by your need to be a d*ck on here...most of your posts are subtle jabs and put downs and not many posts of actual relevance to the discussion. we’ve already got enough people on here trying to do the same thing your doing already.
