Can't rule it out I suppose. The sounding for PDX does snow a warm nose and surface temps 31-33 for a period of freezing rain. It was really close to an ice event/storm. With the cold pool east side perhaps that cold air ends up thicker. We've seen this many times and models do not initially handle that well.

Looks great for the whole West Coast. And not as wet way up north where they do not need it as much.

Yup really good Nina runs tonight. It also looks like around the 30th to New Year's Day it is going to turn real interesting for the Gorge and maybe PDX.

Yeah, too bad that warn nose is way too deep for snow. Pretty shallow cold air at the surface in PDX. As you said, it could get interesting for east metro though as far as ZR goes,
