TheNewCulverJosh
No snow over here at nearly 2700' means you guys in the valley are screwed. Is what it is. I had my fun for the year. That June 30th thunderstorm was enough for 10 years. The destruction was immense. Roofs are still being repaired/replaced, and many other structures still in stages of construction. Be careful what you wish for. Edit: And let us not forget about the fires too. Of course, a lot of that was sinister.

Gradient Keeper
Just an observation, but noticing a trend with the models to progressively split the trough energy inside 135 W, not digging the trough down over us, weak shortwave ridging at times rather flat, but more ridging popping up in the North Pacific as well.... Really obvious the past 6-8 runs. Maybe models are picking up on the SSWE already. I could see things becoming ridgy over us to about ~150 W over the next 3-5 days. Just a hunch. I'm probably wrong. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe.
GHweatherChris
Maybe we need a 3.5 day moratorium on maps, couldn't hurt. Right now all we see is nothing as far as any positive potential for some winter weather. 1

Right now all we see is nothing as far as any positive potential for some winter weather. I might stop posting past day 10 be default, unless something notable pops up there. Previously I did it for archival purposes, but it's largely useless and the only thing that could potentially be derived from the archiving of 384 GFS maps is that our accuracy at that range is a game of darts. Surprise. But if something fun looking pops up, why not, right? Some eye candy never hurt anyone within context. Just last night there was a powerful windstorm for Oregon that I posted. It would likely be stuff like that. Or wintry weather, whenever it shows up. 1 Quote Weather stats for MBY Snowfall: -Total snowfall since joining: 50.25" -2018-19: 21" -2019-20: 2.5" -2020-21: 13" -2021-22: 8.75" -2022-23: 5.75" -2023-24*: 0.25" -Most recent snowfall: 0.25”; January 17th, 2024 -Largest snowfall (single storm): 8.5"; February 12-13, 2021 -Largest snow depth: 14"; 1:30am February 12th, 2019 Temperatures: -Warmest: 109F; June 28th, 2021 -Coldest: 13F; December 27th, 2021 -Phreeze Count 2023-24:
