A decent storm train would be nice.

And I’m still a fan of the latter half of January.  Always have been.

I started Jan 2012 with a pineapple express at my place. Then once we hit the 3rd week of Jan winter let loose.

People often forget that most people hate snow.

It's a good thing for us folks with gardens and roofs to worry about that we don't have to deal with anything too cold or frozen.

In all seriousness, the GFS has a cold bias but the Euro ain't perfect either.

Anyway, this is all pointless, so I will be spinning up the January thread as a Jan-Mar Spring prep thread and will continue to ban those sharing unrealistic (re: all) snow maps.

The worst part about that photo was the fact that I had to endure 15seconds of drizzle to snap it.

I’ve been on the warm December cold January train for awhile.  Still looking good!

Hmmmm. the euro is showing some small accumulations here and about 6 or 8 gfs members are seeing 10+ cm on Monday here (new from overnight). I can see how that would happen, that low would have to track east and just graze us as an anafront type setup. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.  Any thoughts?

I’ve been watching that scenario for a couple days now.  I think we are sitting in a good spot ATM to at least have a little hope.

Looks like you copy and pasted that from a forum where the weenie meltdowns are measured in celsius.

The thing about meltdowns is the fact things had to have been frozen at some point.  Perhaps flash frozen?

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Others may have matched you or even exceeded it at times in the past, but it’s generally not the case right now.   It makes you very susceptible to improperly analyzing posts from people on your little hit list in a certain light and dusting things up.  Common thread.

Anyway, let’s hope for something EVERYONE can get excited about!

I often agree with your analyses of behavior on here (even mine) but I think you are off on this one. How exactly am I supposed to analyze a giant emoji flipping me off in response to having a different take on model trends? It was all downhill from there, and I still never really made it personal.

I even played along with the dumb blooming flowers in the winter game certain people here love to play. All you can really do. But it still gets pinned as 100% me f*cking up the forum for everyone else. I get it that my reputation precedes me to a great degree but let a guy change a little. And recognize that there are many here who play into the at times dysfunctional nature of this place, it's not a one man show.

When was the last time I was actually active on Mark's blog? Going through posts in early 2012 and can't find a single one of my comments on his blog.

Must have had a lot on my mind when we were searching for homes in downtown.

Still better than someone in Eastern Oregon saying "The weeklies look great" and then nothing else.

I like that profile gif of yours, very christmas themed.

At first I was trying to figure out where around Silver Falls that was then I remembered you are in Oklahoma.

Looks like it's been melting. :(

Snow in Oklahoma doesn’t usually last much longer than it does in the PNW lowlands unfortunately.

When it comes to the average person there, I bet they like that the snow doesn't last all winter.

Personally I like a bit of diversity. Weeks straight of snow accumulation would get old.

It might just be easier to ban you and anyone else that uses plastic money and listens to CFAX. Not only are you not local to the weather that we discuss, but your preferences to the weather are inflammatory, and your gardening picture was scandalous.

I wouldn't mind Polymer money honestly, not only harder to counterfeit but longer shelf life.

Sorry for getting actual weather discussion in here, but wanted to share the final frame of the 12z EPS. Don't know the pattern progression between D10-D15 to get to this point as those frames haven't loaded on WB yet.

Actually looks fairly similar to the latest weeklies from Monday, which improved from this point into the first week of January.

Such a beautiful setup for wave driving out of Eurasia. Doesn’t get much better than that.

It would appear the ensemble mean supports lower heights over us, with the ULL being less of an issue.
