I have never really bought the warm ground thing.  I've never seen much evidence of it if the snow is able to overcome the relatively warm ground  and stick in the first place.  This snow would have high moisture content which makes it harder to melt, because it's so dense.

It makes a big difference with light snow but not nearly as much with heavy precip.

I don’t think the warm ground will keep it from sticking. But if it is getting well above freezing during the day it will be melting from the top and bottom.

We go from 54F to 38F in one day on the ensembles so that's pretty cool to see a rapid drop in temps like that.

Tim is going to get enough snow it won’t all melt at his place by Christmas. Plus, he lives in a mountain valley, he’s probably getting like 3 hours of direct sunlight a day right now.

Yeah... its under 5 hours of direct sunlight here now but it does not really matter in terms of melting snow with dry air and a peak sun angle of 19 degrees.    The snow here will not melt until we have a south wind and rain which probably won't happen until Saturday.  If we get even 2 inches of snow on Monday then we are guaranteed another white Christmas.

Warm ground is definitely a thing. You guys will likely see what October snow is here when the snow will melt from the ground up with highs only in the teens and 20's. The ground in the PNW is extremely saturated right now which equals warmth. It takes a couple weeks of cold temps to truly freeze the ground up.

We might get 2”, but it will melt in a day most likely. But it should be a pretty chilly week.

If that were true we'd never see snow stick around around here. One cold dry night is usually enough to freeze the top layer of ground enough to prevent any melting from below.

If you saw that before the snow you'd have a better shot at that but with the snow coming in before a hard freeze the ground will not freeze up enough with the blanket of snow. Snow is an incredible insulator.

For your and my area, best case scenario is 1-2” of slushy snow that’ll be gone the next day. If the best case scenario happens get out there and make that snow monster ASAP.

I've been reading reviews and watching hilarious videos of Cyberpunk 2077. It is one of the most disappointing and buggy video games to ever have been released.

This is definitely true.

In February 2019 I got almost a foot of snow the first night and temps fell into the low 20's but the ground was still sloppy mud underneath the snow like 24 hours later.

I know a lot of people that work for the city.  They love it.

Hard to get snow down in the swamp.  Out your way with some elevation it's a bit easier.

New open-world video game that's been in development for years. Made by the same people that did The Witcher series. I am really enjoying Cyberpunk so far.

I have some more elevation than you, but within about 1/4 of a mile from the water so our snow odds are fairly similar.

PlayStation is issuing refunds, I have played video games since I was a kid I have never heard about that happening.
