What is the best value in the West right now?

I Zillow surf when I am bored at work. I would have to say Spokane, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Ogden.

Any other location that is even half way desirable to live in is way over priced.

Also my criteria requires Skiing and good Mt Biking near by.

Spokane has always been about 25% less than here it seems. Spokane and Ogden were on my list of places to relocate to when I got out of college, Ogden seemed to be a bit less than Spokane at the time (2010).

Was just looking at the graph from the nearest weather station to here and yesterday really was incredible.

From 53 degrees at Noon and 32 with heavy snow at 5.  That's about as dramatic a swing as is physically possible here.

Culver, OR.

I really only know Colorado markets. Colorado Springs area is still a decent value here, considering the natural beauty, amenities, and how close it is to a major city.

Grand Junction is also a fairly nice area that isn't too expensive. Also real close to Moab for outdoor enthusiasts.

I grew up in the SLC area and went to univ in Ogden. Not a fan of that city though I hear in the last 10 years or so it's undergone a decent revitalization. Spent some time in Poctaello - hated it. Idaho Falls wasn't so bad.

Depends what kind of life you're trying to live tho. If you're a red blooded Red Robin eatin' suburban person looking to do some fun stuff in the outdoors and raise a family in a largely LDS community then I could see living on the outskirts of any of those towns, just make sure to rent a second Uhaul to bring the good beer in.

Going to be some training in the upcoming days for someone.

In November (I think), a couple of individuals were arrested trying to sabotage the train tracks in Bellingham using shunts. Catch-and-release. Reportedly they were associated with groups protesting the coal train shipments using the line. At the time, it was reported that there were something like 20 similar cases or discoveries in the last year-ish in Skagit and Whatcom counties. The Bellingham Herald referred to the Whatcom train network as a "prime target."

You could very well be correct, and this could be mere operator error. But it's not exactly tinfoil-hat-worthy to think it's highly suspicious.

Thanks for putting that song in my head now.

Ha ha....you'd be surprised.  A 1400 sq ft. 3 bed/2 bath basic home is going for 300K here.

Let me add, on a small lot with a very small yard.

At this time in 2017 you were still all in for a legitimate January 1950 redux despite all of our best warnings against it.  Just sayin’...

Different mechanism though. Lol.

Was anticipating a discontinuous retrogression to -EPO/-PNA, but it got torpedoed by East-Asian shenanigans IIRC. Was a very close call dynamically, even if it doesn’t look like it on the surface.

I hate myself for taking part in it, but here we are.

I like it.  It’s a good palate cleanser.

I think a lot of people have the taste of gun powder stuck in their mouth after a big ol’ warning shot like that.

I like Colorado Springs. To dry for my taste, but very beautiful area.

Was just at the family Lake Goodwin Lake house...Only snow left there was a tiny pile where the snow slid off the metal carport. My new area definitely did better with this one.

Bleep blop blorp.

First you mentioned yesterday the snowpack was surprisingly unaffected by the AR and would actually probabaly go up again last night. Then now you seem to have forgotten it was 60 just yesterday even though you were talking about it all afternoon.

So when do we get our January 1950 redux?
