One more thing before I go to bed... Currently 31F w/ freezing fog. This is some of the densest fog I’ve ever seen in my life, seriously. Obligatory, “my phone didn’t capture it well.”

6z GEFS

Yakima ensembles with a so-so signal for a decent shot of backdoor cold. It's not great, but it's a start. Temps nosedive below freezing and not under an inversion either. Looking at Portland ensembles this 'cool down' is with precip and a cluster of members -3c to -7c. Not real cold or bitter, but it's enough IF we can establish easterly flow and that could makes things very interesting in time for Christmas. C'MON!!!!

29 and clear here... freeze number 6 for the season.    I am assuming its calm too.   East wind should start up soon ahead of front coming in tonight.

Not a bad 06z run imo. Decent amount  of snow for the WA Cascades next 10 days or so. Beyond that, some optimism for GOA block to set up.

Short term, it’s currently 33 with some fog. Gonna see if it get to chance to hit freezing for the 1st time this month.

What side of Boeing field do you reside on?

Looks like some 32* reading around you......you should hit it pending the fog

Yeah just checked my weather station and it just hit freezing. This place and the surrounding areas is one of the harder places to get down to freezing and snow. Being it really close to Lake WA and DT. Gotta take a lot!

So my phone died on me last week, whats the deal with weather predictions? I don't really want to read 72 pages.

Think back to the last time you were on here...It’s about the same. Still hope but still quite a ways out.

So here are my latest thoughts updating previous thoughts from my previously previous thoughts. It seems models in about 4-5 days are going to turn real interesting as we move closer to Christmas week. My prediction is the NPAC jet dies/retracts and near/after Christmas we either go into a major blocking/cold, or a big, fat ridge, inversion, "fake cold" pattern. C'MON!!!!
6z GFS in 2 hours 21 minutes

But watch for the fastball up and in but maybe the curveball low and away.  Field of Dreams.  4-5 days out where dreams come to die.  Maybe it will be fat down the middle this time.  Corn Pop says it will snow closer to Christmas.

Hopefully the cloud hold off. Y’all should see if you can, looks beautiful. You can see Jupiter’s moons! This might be the last chance as the upcoming week looks wet and cloudy.

Venus was also visible this morning next to the moon. If you can get thru the fog.

That’s crazy cool!  I need to get me a good quality telescope and have Seattle/Tacoma dim down the lights! That’s the first picture like this that I have ever seen Jupiter with its kids!

I know right? It’s amazing seeing Jupiter’s moons. The conjunction like this happens only once in a few hundred years! Last time was in the Middle Ages so I wouldn’t miss it. It’s only supposed to get better and clearer once it peaks on the 21st aka  the “Christmas Star”

I recall a very frosty Christmas 1995! January 1996 had a good snow event!

It's nice to have that kind of cold on this side of the pole.
