Last time I bought a laptop (Jan 2019) it dumped snow one month later. I'm currently shopping for a secondary, more expensive one.... #Analogs 🤪

Good Lord... that is crazy.   Our house is between 70-72 all winter and that is not warm enough for my family.

Still just 39 with rain here. Nice to see the easterly flow really hold on today. It was 36 with heavy rain and gusty East winds at one point overnight.

The passes are currently getting hammered. This weekend was looking mild with rain in the mountains not too many days ago.

Here's a list of white Christmas occurrences at my place and total depth.
A lot of 0 or near 0 in there, then there's a couple pretty big blasts in there.
2015 and 2012 were very good late December snows. Well 2010 was great, just not on Xmas. I remember a blizzard the day before my birthday on 12/29/2010 with like 6" on the ground.

2010 - 0.5"
2011 - 0.0"
2012 - 8.0"
2013 - 0.0"
2014 - 0.0"

2016 - 0.1"

1990 and 2008 are my top white Christmas’s...Since both featured a lot of snow on the ground with heavy snow falling on Christmas morning. Probably had at least 15” on the ground in 1990 and about 34” on the ground in 2008. Oh the memories!!

Thankfully I had still lived in Hillsboro for a couple years to experience all of 2008. At the time I did not know that was going to be a 30 year type December.

Like can Portland have anything between 0" and 25" inches? lol There has to be a year where maybe an inch was on the ground on Xmas.

When I lived a few of my younger single days at the lake house and when it still had a wood burning insert, I would get that living room up to about 85 degrees!

Both of those are uncomfortable extremes.    I can't imagine a temp in the low 50s inside the house.   That is almost cold enough to see your breath.    We have gone on vacation for 2 weeks and set the temp all the way down to 64 and everyone is freezing cold when we return until it warms up.

When I was a baby, the furnace in my house went out and we couldn’t afford to fix it for 10 years. So growing up, my house was always really cold. All these years later, I’m still use to a cold house😂😂

My wife's parents live in Minnesota and they have a furnace in their house but they never use it... they heat the house with wood-burning stoves and its usually uncomfortably warm in there.   Like 80+ degrees.

Usually keep my heat around 75 inside.

In this climate, saving a few dollars could get you downright sick. Especially with this flu season you don't want to be lowering your immune system.
