TheNachoVanCandySavage
Checking in from Erie. The airport should top 50” today and we passed 75” in my yard. While I’m only minutes from the airport, the difference in elevation is about 225ft, which makes a big difference along the lake shore. Another 5-10 minutes south of me, elevation climbs another 500+ ft into the heart of the snow belt and totals here can be pushing 90+” depending on particular spots. An example during December was a storm that brought about 5” of snowfall to the 1400+ elevations and 0” at my house. This is a common pattern, especially in the fall and early winter. Erie would run away with more records had they just built our airport to the south rather than west of the city lol. Happy winter
