Even with the best score of the season my total is only 47% of normal to date. Tom needs to sprinkle some of his magic dust over my way, lol

My call for this wintry pattern to settle farther east and south across our Sub Forum is going to pan out my friend...and it starts later this week into the weekend.  I think you guys out in MI are in for a historic stretch of Winter this month wrt epic LES and a busy storm train.  This pattern setting up is really amazing in the model world and one that I've never witnessed seeing before for the MW/GL's.  The -NAO block will deliver the goods over here.  Your going to make up your snow deficit in a hurry!

Sure hoping so. We've got a ways to go, that's for sure

When we're done with met Winter, there is a real possibility there will be many place around the snow belts and even parts of the MW that will look like this.  Heck, it may even be in IA!

Here just west of Ottumwa  we had a slow start and missed out on the earlier snows that Desmoines and Ames got.  But since Dec 28th its been crazy!

29.5 right now

2019-2020 42.0

2018 -2019 72.4

Oct and Nov 2018 were incredible and set the tone for what I think was a record  season here. Cuad Cities area crept past me at end of that season. I dont accept the official  Ottumwa numbers as I have seen them to be in error.. Im consistently  higher.  I think they are daily numbers measure  each morning. Not every  6 hour intervals.

Those are awesome. Why have you down-played your winter so much? This kind of stuff is worth showing off.

From the system this past Thu/Fri, ORD picked up 2.3" of snow, with another 0.1" on the 5th and 0.7" yesterday.  This brings the season total up to 28.5" which is 6" above normal to date.  What an incredible turnaround with more snow in the forecast this entire week!

Per the hourly reports from the NWS in Grand Rapids it has now been snowing for 63 hours straight. For the February GRR. GRR now reports 14.2" for February and 29.6" for the winter season that is still over 2 feet below where we should be for this date. And the official snow depth is now at 12" here at my house I live 20 miles NW of  the air port I have 14" on the ground.

I think you will easily get much closer to normal by months end and end up above normal by March.  This pattern is loaded and the lake is still wide open for business.  Congrats on the Big turnaround!

DSM at 48.0" as of 9pm. Probably be around 48.5 by midnight 2/7. That is all ready good for Top 20 snowiest season. Out of 136. less than 24" to break the all time record.

Sitting at 34.5” in my back yard. Hoping the back loaded winter continues to deliver! All the snow I have received has been in the December thru February time frame. I had an ice storm in November also, quiet the winter spread!

It's also nice to receive your best snowfalls during met Winter and not wasting them in the late Autumn or Spring months.  We haven't nearly cashed in like most of you did out west earlier on in the season but it sure has come on strong in late January.  I'm waiting for the latest update to come out for Chicago but I believe we cracked the 30" mark for the season yesterday.

Edit: I just checked and to my surprise, ORD ended up with a higher total than I previously posted and recorded 3.9"!  Season total is now up to 32.4".  Wow, what a turnaround and we ain't even close to being done yet!  I really believe the majority of our Sub still has at the very least a solid month to go with sustained Winter.

ORD tacked on another 0.5" of snow yesterday and with the additional 0.1" that was record on the morning of the 9th, ORD is officially up to an "even steven" 33.0" for the season.  We are now only a few inches away from normal which we will likely hit, or surpass, by the end of this weekend.  This has been one hellova turnaround for Chitown.  #Chiberia

ORD picked up 0.4" on Thu and 0.1" yesterday....7 out of the past 8 days with measurable snowfall...that will likely continue today.  Season total now at 33.5"...we will may reach the seasonal norm by the end of today.  Who would have thought?

The week of arctic waves only dropped a few inches total here, so my season total is sitting at 49.2".

As a result of yesterday's snowfall, my expectations that ORD would reach the seasonal norm for snowfall at ORD came into fruition.  The 3.2" that fell yesterday brought the season total up to 36.7"!  Thus far, this has been a phenomenal stretch of winter for Chicago and it appears we still have a lot more to go.  ORD is 11.7" above normal for the season and 6.7" above normal for the month to date.  Could we crack 50" this season???  If all works out just right, we may be able to do so by weeks end...I can't believe I'm even saying such a thing given how sad this season started.

Absolutely amazing considering where you were 3 weeks ago.  Congrats and more headed your way.
