The 3.2" that fell yesterday brought the season total up to 36.7"! Thus far, this has been a phenomenal stretch of winter for Chicago and it appears we still have a lot more to go. ORD is 11.7" above normal for the season and 6.7" above normal for the month to date. Could we crack 50" this season??? If all works out just right, we may be able to do so by weeks end...I can't believe I'm even saying such a thing given how sad this season started. CentralNebWeather
I asked NWS Hastings for this map and they posted it to their Twitter page a little bit ago. It has a large area of Central Nebraska in the 36-48” range. Local paper had us at 47” through yesterday. Thought that might be off, but looking at this map, they might be spot on.

westMJim
Time to look at where we are in the snow fall department for this winter season. At Grand Rapids February is now at 27.0” for the season 42.2” that is a departure of -17.3” There is officially 13” on the ground here at my house I have 14” on the ground. At Muskegon February 14.3” for the season 37.0” a departure of -38.8” with 15” on the ground. At Lansing for February 19.7” for the season 40.4” a departure of +2.5” with 16” on the ground. At Detroit for February 18.7” for the season 38.2” that is a departure of +8.3” with 14” on the ground. At Flint February 23.6” for the season 42.3” that is a departure of +7.7” with 14” on the ground. At Saginaw February 13.1” for the season just 26.9” that is a departure of -3.0” and they have 8” on the ground. Alpena has had 12.3” in February and for the season so far 46.2” that is a departure of -13.2” and there is 9” on the ground. At Houghton Lake they have had just 8.4” in February and 40.3” a departure of 9.6” for the season and there is 15” on the ground there. At the Sault they have had 17.6” in February and for the season 67.9” that is a departure of -26.1” and they have 19” on the ground. And at Marquette they have had 10.2” in February and for the season they have had 85.5” and that is a departure of -52.6” and they have 18” on the ground. So while it has been a snowy February I southern lower Michigan that has not been the case so much up north and only SE Michigan has locations that are above average in the snow fall department as of this date. I live in town and prior to the storm sunny side of streets (north) had about 4" while the south sides were 6-7". Also open fields around town were down to 3-4" as well due to drifting etc. Storm dropped 10" but it was 20:1 and has settled quite a bit already. So post storm we had 14-17" for a day or so before it began to settle. Going to say we range 11-14" attm which is still a great ❄ pack for this region. Remember we were missed in every direction prior to 1/31. What's odd is anywhere the high-ratio stuff was plowed or piled seems to be "settle resistant" leading to the impression of an even deeper base. Sun angle and length of solar made that not a big deal. My point is the snow/ice from OCT was not long gone--- it made it's impact. Imagine how warm it would have been without all that snow around. That ice on BWCAW lakes- never left. Maybe LOTW , but further E. snowstorm83
49.4" in Lincoln. 3rd snowiest January, 5th snowiest Feb, and 6th snowiest season on record so far. Hard to find anything to complain about here. I think it's likely we get 50"+ for the season, but probably not beating 2018-19. 5 Quote Snowfall in Lincoln, NE: 2017-18: 21.4" 2018-19: 55.5" 2019-20: 17.6" 2020-21: 49.4" 2021-22: 5.1" Average: 26"

Even last year/season with 52” was snowier here, but winter isn’t over I guess. I didn’t quite hit 50” in ‘13 - ‘14.

That small blob of medium blue of up to 20” looks to be near Ottumwa, or no? Im color blind so its tough to decipher. I have 2 properties, one 6 miles wsw of Ottumwa and another on the NE edge of city limits. Both have hovered around 20 inches much of Feb. Both are not open areas and have had little drifting.
