We will need a couple hours of 2"/hr to get the bigger totals. The latest HRRR is down to 8", which I would certainly still be happy with. There is a serious band pushing 50dbz just SW of Pella that is probably doing 3-4"/hr, maybe more. No bright banding either. As for our area. It's coming down at a decent clip, but flake size is rather unimpressive currently. It's not bad by any means, just unimpressive. 1 1 Quote 2021-22 Snowfall: (Hiawatha) TOTAL: 10.2" (12/28: 3.0") (12/29: 0.8") (1/1: 6.4")

Some funky beam height shenanigans going on. Stations still reporting snow with visibilities ranging from 0.5-1.5mi. Haven't seen any flakes that are larger than pea sized. bud2380
I don’t think this is going to underperform. snowstorm83
6.5" officially at KLNK. The report said only through noon, but also made it sound like the final total. I guess anything since then would be less than 1/2" though. Other than 2/23/19, this is the biggest storm since Feb 2015. I'll see the aftermath in person by this time tomorrow. Roads still look like hot garbage on webcams. 6 Quote Snowfall in Lincoln, NE: 2017-18: 21.4" 2018-19: 55.5" 2019-20: 17.6" 2020-21: 49.4" 2021-22: 5.1" Average: 26"

Well, the deepest moisture is veering east across southern Iowa, so if it can stay snow it'll really pile up, like the UK has been showing. FWIW, the 18z NAM now no longer lifts the mix up to Cedar Rapids, keeps us all snow. 1 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"
