They are evacuating parts of the Capital now. Craziness

Might need the military to intervene.   Trump is burning it down on his way out.    Of course.

That looks a bit bumpy!

Nice ending!

Sometimes the EPS pulses like that... Dewey has called it a pulsating egg.

February 2018 was pretty nice here. Would have been a lot nicer a few weeks earlier, but no complaints! I remember one night driving home from Eugene and there was moderate/heavy snow the entire way from the Brownsville exit on I-5 all the way home.

Things were a tad deep up here when hitting the road the morning of the 18th!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

By hour 216 the Pacific has shut off.

Yesterday it was around 240 hours when the Pacific shut down and ridging began to retrograde. Moving along with timing, and then some. At the very least it looks like a decent let-up in the rain. Much like this afternoon!

Ridge refuses to retrogress on druncle, giving the Midwest an Arctic blast. Whether it puts us under a foggy inversionfest or just roasts us a la January 2018 is yet to be seen.

Well, I guess whoever goes to GB for the football game is gonna freeze their a** off.

Yep ridge just sits off the California coast blocking everything. Looks a lot like 2014-2015

Jan 2015 we hit 66F at 6300" in the Sierra and I went paddle boarding. Looks like we will have 15 straight days of temps in the mid 50's or warmer. Crazy.

I’d put my money on the roasting. Just the way things have played out in recent years. Foggy, frosty inversions have become increasingly uncommon.

I know you guys have said that Jan has disappeared as a winter month in the last decade. Look at what it has done in Tahoe. How does this even happen?

It normally is our snowiest month with a 44" average.

2011 - 7"

2012 - 17"

2013 - 4.5"

2014 - 4"

2015 - 0" (first snowless Jan ever!)

2016 - 32.5"

2017 - 136.5"

2018 - 17"

2019 - 44.5"

2020 - 18"

2020 - (most likely another 0")
