00Z EPS is in full retrogression mode at the end of the run... as was pointed out last night.

I would bet money that the last week of January is going to be cold.   And probably beyond that as well.

25 and freezing fog. I was hoping that snow wouldn't be so icy. Any sidewalks that weren't shoveled are making it impossible to get around here.

Last week of the month could be cool to cold with colder air pooling in W Canada, ready to spill through customs once winter opens on February 1st.

Was looking like things would really dry out, now precip looks to be near normal over the next couple weeks. Should be some nice dry days in there too.

Good weather should benefit the Rams. Aaron Donald is ready to go, Cooper Kupp is back. Could be a very good day.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

28 for a low this morning, currently 31.  No fog here.  I'm agreeing there is a pattern shift ahead but that block is bordering on being too far west.  At any rate it's way better than warm and wet.

edit:  just saw the ensembles, looking better

Should be at average rainfall on the month after this AR event. Haven’t had below average rainfall here since July and august. Now that we’ve gotten the rain we need some snow and cold. Like what we’re seeing so far might be able to do the snow trip to orcas before the end of the month.

Very nice to see the models trying to establish some cold the last week of Jan. This is very indicative of what we can expect from the Siberian SSW event 2-3 weeks out, so timing is moving along very nicely.

Base on models signals from yesterday and today, we could enter prolonged period of cold weather with western troughing for late Jan-first half of Feb, according to the EPS.
