Pretty much will come down to real-timing tracking. Here's a thread of some of the active Twitter accounts discussing it. I'll be keeping an eye on these as well as satellite images. Euro deepens the low as it moves towards the NW tip of the Olympic Peninsula. Other models keep it weaker.

Have past significant windstorms that we have had in Western Washington, or Oregon for that matter, been accurately forecasted?  It seems to my recollection that when we have had strong wind storms they have usually been somewhat of a surprise....or at least not much media hyped before hand.  And the ones most advertised have often been busts.  I do like windstorms, but because I work in park maintenance, the results aren't much fun!

Meh, the numbers on the Euro wind maps are usually like 20 mph too high.

Seems like anything over 45mph is good enough to produce extended power outages up here. lol.

The last windstorm to be really hyped up that actually happened was December 1995...

Not done yet.  Just a flat, broad ridge too close to the coast and doesn't even get close to Alaska.  After hour 384 it turns into this a few days later and pretty much stays this way. Not too worried though, the only long range run in quite awhile that hasn't been good.

Seems a bit wreck-less to not have some wind advisory at this point.

Probably going to be atleast some ~45mph gusts tonight. That alone is advisory level.

My generator is on standby...And My creaky tree might be coming down tonight.

Ground probably isn’t quite as saturated up there as it is down here...but the trade off will probably be slightly stronger winds like usual north of Everett.

Interested to see how high the King tide ends up tomorrow here in Tacoma with all the heavy rainfall and snow melt added into the mix. Already at 1.67” on the day and it’s pouring out there...probably will be for awhile too radar shows lots of rain coming.

The Winter Cancel Train is back and better than ever. Can you imagine the looks on those weenie faces when we go a couple weeks with solid model consensus on a 3-4 week window of solid troughing with favorable ingredients for snow only to have it all melt away to the cold reality that is 38º rain.

Not really sure why I'm being tagged in a response to such a pessimistic post.

Perhaps change my username to DrySnow and I will change your fortunes down south.

Usually winds are stronger up here in the West Hills so I have all my appliances charging. We'll see what happens.

Gotta say. It's pretty weird to see this literally 3 hours from now and not even a Wind Advisory anywhere. They've been issuing those lately for far less potent looking setups than this.

Wonder if they're waiting for the 00z GFS to come out and confirm before officially making the call.
