Honestly I would just love an inch or two of snow haha, and some cold easterlies. Hopefully my 1000' elevation helps me a bit.

Seeing a zero in January would be incredible at this point.  No doubt the models have really improved today.

It was spectacular.

I would think Medford must do alright sometimes at least.  A bit more sheltered from marine influence than many places on the west side of the Cascades.

It has! I'm not originally from here though only been living here for 10 years. From those 10 years significant events has been 3. December 2013? (memory is foggy on that one) January 2017 (11inches at least at my home) and February 2019. So yeah, I guess it does alright sometimes. 🌨️

Yeah, the elevation of almost 1400' certainly helps. Their long term snowfall average is very comparable to Portland and Seattle.

Just realized SLE hasn't had a high below 25 since January 2004... That has to be some kind of record.

This run kind of reminds me of the run up to that storm around February 10-11, 2019 that looked like it was going to slam Oregon, but ended up strengthening and going north. Worked out well for Seattle though.

From what I recall, it really wasn’t a big surprise given overall model consensus. Pretty much all models inside of a week showed Seattle getting the goods. Only some showed Portland getting much.

It's called clown range for a reason.

If these models run the table like this we are going to hit 500 pages for this months thread before it's all said and done.

Has that ever happened?

Feb 2019 had like 600+ posts over 3 threads with 2 massive events 2 weeks apart. I would put the Vegas moneyline odds of us needing a second January thread at -300 at this point.

Interestingly, they also went a pretty long time in the heart of the KOLD PHASE without one, from January 1950 to December 1964. Lots more close calls, though.

Thank you! I'm not knowledgeable about weather etc. and also I come from the Caribbean so I'm more used to hurricanes and humidity. So it's really fascinating about the climate around this parts and it's very hard to find forums talking about PNW weather so was very happy to have found this one.

Yeah, PDX also did it in January 2004, December 2008, and February 2014. A little easier there with the gorge.

Been a 3-4 and 8-9 thing lately so we're now dew.

Where do you go for data, I was looking at weather underground but there seems to be missing and some of the data seems suspect
