Unprovoked Tim is being targeted again. This forum never fails to entertain. Back to high school we go!

You act like you never left. I can't remember the last time you posted about the weather and not other people.

No one attacked Tim. He got defensive because he disagreed with something I said.

You brought me into the discussion for no reason.   It the same old argument.  Strawman stuff.   The climate is warming... lets blame Tim because he enjoys warm weather.  😄

Quick question. Why does our weather always suck?

Because Fred banned and unbanned CulverJosh too many times.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Someone needs to find a model that shows some mother f@cking snow. I don't care if it's the Korean model, Japanese, Brazilian, or Russian. Give me a shade of gray plz.

18Z GFS showed that.

Nothing has been lost here.    We are flush with water and the landscape looks healthy and vibrant.

Again... if I lived in Eugene then I would have a different perspective.  But I don't... and my perspective has no bearing on anything anyways.

It got over 90 two days that summer here! Honestly, I loved that week. Most days in the low to mid 80s with lows in the upper 50s. Of course I know that those temperatures are normal summer weather for most other areas so no wonder it was so nice.

I have gotten used to the endless 90's here in Eugene. It no longer bothers me at all. Once you're used to it, it is easy to prepare for and you can also adjust your recreation activities (more water stuff). It does suck that some of our vegetation has taken a hit.

No need to go international. Look no further than our very own 18z GFS.

Built to please weather weenies both foreign and domestic.

18z GFS is dead to me. So many domestic issues as of late. I was hoping for some international help. We could use it.

My wife and I used to float the McKenzie a couple times a summer. Which was fun even though I cannot really swim well and fear drowning. I swim well enough the lower McKenzie at summer flows is not to scary.

I don't post everyday. I have other things to do. Work, child, wife, hell playing with my dog is entertaining. I post stats when I feel they're worthy. Sometimes I share opinions on models. Not my fault people scroll pass it. I don't really care either.

Dead trees actually stop at the King/Pierce County line.

Yeah that's the thing when rainfall and temperature patterns gradually shift north it's silly to act like its going to hit southern regions harder. I have been up and down to I-90 corridor several times over the last five years and they have no fewer dead and dying cedars, hemlocks and douglas firs than anywhere down here. In fact the area around Denny Creek/Franklin Falls is probably a little worse than anywhere in the Mount Hood corridor.

I have floated the McKenzie hundreds of times. I was a river guide up there about 20 years ago. One of my favorite places on earth. I am still heartbroken over what burned up. One of my best friend's business got burned to the ground. F@ck I need a drink now.

It all comes with the territory. If you are going to embrace the endless 90s be ready to embrace more lowland fires and a different, less green landscape. It's part of the same phenomenon.

This is just silly.   Although the ice storm is 2012 was very destructive in that area.

The landscape here does not look dead or dying.   There are always some dead trees... but the landscape looks just a vibrant as it did when we first came here in 2003.

My Dad has a 3 acre woodlot of Douglas Fir on the floor of the Willamette Valley. They do not look healthy at all. Many have died in recent years. The climate really does not support them at the valley floor anymore.

The Douglas fir have done pretty well for the most part up here. It’s the higher elevation species like the noble and grand fir we had scattered around the property that have been hit hard.

How nice would it be if our warmer summers also got some occasional huge juicy (not dry) thunderstorms to wet everything down once in a while. I guess we'll never know. 😞

Why does what anyone enjoy matter?   So if he does not embrace the warm weather then there will be no fires and a greener landscape?

That is the part of this discussion that I don't get.    And never will.

We are sitting here discussing things like our climate has feelings and we can change it with having the right mindset.  😄

Yeah, that would be nice and even some modern summers do work out that way (2019). But summertime dryness without thunderstorms is the west coast default the farther south you go. So as climate zones shift north look no farther than places like Roseburg and Medford to see what it will be like there in 50 years. No real increase in thunderstorms but definitely more hot and dry days with little in the way of marine influence.
