You’ve still got several opportunities coming up. Hopefully the ensembles keep trending better for next month too.

Yeah it's been a minute since we had a bunch of borderline events over here. It used to happen much more.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Going to be fun to watch and see how this goes. 3km NAM and a few other models show a pretty substantial drop in the dewpoint right before the main band arrives as the offshore flow surges and then we wet bulb down. 3km NAM is probably the best case scenario. Looks like current conditions so far are going as modeled.

You are pretty far west, aren’t you? You might be the winner for the metro area today. Looks like moisture is starting to get close.

Jim was here last night.  He may not be back today.😢

New rule, he gets to come back when snow is falling so he can freely gloat.

Luckily these two have totally recovered their credibility since then. :D

I don't make sweeping statements about winter being over.    My comment from that day was accurate.    And as we see right now... a deep western trough does not always mean meaningful cold and snow.  And even in February 2019... the Portland area still got screwed for snow.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course.   You can always go to a big event and find people doubting it would happen beforehand.    Of course that leaves out all the other times people were doubting events and then nothing happened.

Yeah I'm about 6 miles west of HIO. Couple miles east of Banks. In theory I should do pretty well based on all the models but we'll see. If nothing else it should look quite pretty for a few hours. I'm hoping the 3km NAM solution wins and we manage something a bit more widespread for the majority of the PDX metro.
