Yep. An odd situation where the further west you are, the better off you are doing. I can't imagine you won't get some flakes though soon.

This is the kind of event I'm talking about where Springfield typically does the worst of any location in the valley because we are the furthest southeast, along with the Creswell area. Cottage Grove is high up enough that they can get in on it a little easier.

We have the rare Blizzard warning being issued!

Lake Tahoe Area-
Including the cities of South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Stateline,
and Incline Village
905 AM PST Tue Jan 26 2021

...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 AM PST
FRIDAY...

* CHANGES...Upgrade to Blizzard Warning.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of
2 to 4 feet, except 3 to 6 feet above 7000 feet. Winds gusting
as high as 50 mph in the lower elevations with over 100 mph at
times over ridges with whiteout conditions.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 AM PST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rough conditions can be expected on Lake
Tahoe through much of the week. Gusts 30-45 mph with wave
heights of 2 to 5 feet. There may also be periods of thundersnow
  tonight into Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be near impossible or even paralyzed with
near zero visibility through Friday morning. Very strong winds
could cause tree damage and power outages. If you risk travel
over the Sierra passes, you cloud be stuck in your car for
several hours, if not a day. Cold wind chills as low as 20 below
zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30
  minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel!
Road crews and first responders may not be able to rescue you.
Stay indoors until the snow and wind subside. Even a short walk
could be deadly if you become disoriented.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

You know it’s legit when snow depths > wave heights.

Honestly,I’ll be satiated with a few flakes or momentary mix here in Gladstone.  I like living here (no sad face necessary), but when it hears the phrase “marginal event,” this area has a notorious habit of immediately getting in the fetal position to take its cold rain beating.  Not a snow lover’s dreamscape, even by a realistic PNW lowlander’s standards.

Sounds like this is turning into a potentially nice event for areas west of I-5. Happy to see that.

Radar shows blue over us but there is currently nothing falling out of the sky. Dry and cold wind though. Down to 37 after a high of 39 earlier.

What were the GFS and Euro saying, most recently, for accumulations down there?

I SEE FLAKES! WE DID IT!

I would like to thank every single poster and lurker on this board for working so hard this winter. Everyone gave it their all and it ended up with Tigard getting their first snowflakes of the winter. Really proud of everyone. You can do great things with a group as great as this. See you next winter!

Really just moisture I’m a bit concerned about but it seems we have a bit to work with for an inch or two up here.

Saw this earlier today and thought it's going to be a wild one down there. Snow totals upped as well from 1'-3' to 2'-4'. Insane amount incoming.
