Some snow bands trying to make their way north. Could moisten the low levels a tad.

Once that main band goes through the valley snow levels will rise pretty quickly to about 2000’. Nice event. 3” in Dallas, 2” for Salem.

KRTX radar is stuck on clear air mode on radarscope for some reason, which is not all that helpful at the moment.

This one too.

So now it's Medford's turn to shut the radar off when something is about to happen. Last fed imagine was at 11am.

DP down to 19 in Everett now. Little doubt anything that falls here tonight would be frozen but it'll be extremely difficult to get anything more than flurries with the air this dry.

How is the possible that all the rain atmospheric rivers come at us and the one snow river goes to California.

This is just incorrect... there is no AR of snow heading to CA.   There is no AR of rain or snow along the West Coast at all right now.    The storm heading into CA is the same storm bring the snow to the Portland area.

Yeah just better dynamics down there. This event seemed pretty similar to an event I remember from December 2000.

So there have been preference wars about preferred kinds of weather fairly frequently on this forum.  But I'm wondering is there anyone posting or lurking on here who does NOT like snow?  It seems we are all snow starved, snow loving people. And there is never too much snow!

So would it have snowed if the storm

was heading over there to us in Seattle?

There is definitely a point of diminishing returns with snow... and there is such a thing as too much snow.   I think Andrew and I both got there in February 2019.

It's the same storm.    It is here too... look at the satellite.   And its not snowing in places like San Francisco or Sacramento.

I’m in the Portland Heights area next to Council Crest.

Good point. If I lived in a place or elevation that received a lot of snow, I would likely get tired of it at some point, I suppose... just never had that experience.  My wife lived in Alaska for a while years ago and she has mentioned how dirty the snow eventually gets over the long winter.  I don't think she understands my obsession.
