Trying to remember an event like this with such a stationary moisture plume where my area gets almost nothing.    And its going to go all day tomorrow as well... and into Tuesday.

00z GEM Day 3-10 While not great did give me some hope. The ridge stands up more instead of being shoved off, then retrogrades evolving into a huge block. The nagging cut-off issues also are not seen on this run.

Honestly, based on the amount of snow they're getting (and even though it's 1 a.m. currently) I'm not that impressed with the rate of their posts. I think our frequency is almost higher on even quiet nights like tonight.

Looks like SEA is going to finish January about 3.15 inches above normal for rainfall.

Interestingly... January has been much wetter than normal in 3 out of the last 4 years (2018, 2020, and 2021).

You know it's bad when we are fidna be in Feb and my most significant weather memories are still the Labor Day Firestorm. Nothing of interest or any significance has happened here since. I would imagine this is a pretty abnormally long stretch without any interesting weather. No cold, no snow, no windstorms, no significant ARs, above normal temps and below normal precip for both Dec-Jan. The coldest temp we have experienced was 23F all the way back on Oct 26. Our coldest high was 38F back on Nov 21. I would also imagine there aren't very many instances of the cold weather season's coldest temp being in October for here.

A glance at the long-range GFS model reveals a blast of cold air arriving by mid-February. I have a hunch our chance of seeing more lowland snow isn’t over yet for the season.
