Some pics on the way up to my property.  The ones on the road are 1/4 mile down the road and the gate is the beginning of my 120 acre land.

No idea this was going to happen today! Mcminnville

It never really stuck here, but it was fun to watch. I thought the backend of the band was going to give me a dusting, but it kind of fell apart and warmed slightly. Glad we got flakes though.

So there have been preference wars about preferred kinds of weather fairly frequently on this forum.  But I'm wondering is there anyone posting or lurking on here who does NOT like snow?  It seems we are all snow starved, snow loving people. And there is never too much snow!

I moved from a relatively snow starved place to a place that averages 90 inches.  Never get tired of snow in December.    The later you get in winter, the less exciting it gets, but still beautiful to watch.  But with a small snowfall, like 2 or 3 inches, you hardly notice it, especially later in the winter.  Though never as exciting as snow in Western Washington, since there it is an event, the busted snow disappointments are not a big seal because you know there will be more chances soon.

Yeah, when a snow storm busts here on the west side it is very disappointing...we never know if we'll get another chance the rest of winter.  And some winters we don't get anything at all.  Maybe I'll have to move some day.

Yeah that's the hard part.  Not "wait till next week", it's "wait till next year, or the year after".  I am still bitter about the busted winter storm warning for 6-8 inches of snow Christmas Eve night to Christmas morning 1983.  It rained.  Would have been, even today, the best snowstorm of my life.  Not the amount, though that is good too, but the timing would have been perfect, especially since there was just a little bit of snow already on the ground.

Ended up with 4" on the grass, 3.5" on surfaces in Philomath, more like 2.5" in Corvallis.  Quite a pleasant surprise given the predictions!  Not a great day on Highways 20 and 22 to the coast - one of my friends was stuck for two hours between multiple wrecks and jackknifed trucks.

Nice event! Philomath is a beautiful area. Wonder how much Alsea got.

Never heard of Philomath... had to look it up.    Looks like a really nice place.

Just about 2.5" in West Salem at just over 400'. Temp went from 38 to 32 in 75 minutes.

Still at 32f with light rain.

Nice surprise

With gradients going flat in the mid-valley, looks like some kind of an inversion has now set up.

Pretty crazy snowfall pattern.  Elevations around 300ft on Sunnyside Rd near Town Center had almost an inch of snow when I drove through around 4pm.  I found snow as low as 250ft (albeit a trace) near Eagle Creek.  Zero snow in Estacada (in town) at 450ft.  Further towards the foothills, only a slight dusting at 1,200ft.  I think some of it had to do with precip rates as it seemed less as I headed east.  All areas had decent east wind outflow with temps hovering between 32-33f so that didn't seem to be a factor.  Obviously as you headed west, there was more snow.  650ft between Damascus and Boring had about 2".

East wind is maybe 2-5mph here. Never got too strong today probably why we’ve done better with precipitation so far. Hoping it can cool off a few degrees...still more precipitation coming in too.

According to my wife we ended up with 2.3” today. Probably it for the event, as temps up there are in the mid-30s now. Airmass cools again overnight, but moisture  will be sparse. We’ve now passed 2014-15’s seasonal total.

Really impressed to see a widespread 2-4" today across the mid-valley west of I-5. That matched the more optimistic model output.

Nothing much to report here, light rain and up to 40 now. I drove out to the gorge and did a super quick hike up Hamilton Mt. late this afternoon. About 8" up there at the summit and it probably snowed about 1.5" on my hike with sticking snow making it down to about 300'. Cape Horn also had about an inch with heavy snow on the way back.

Do you think it was snowing at your place at any point today? We definitely had 2-3 hours of snow here, and it started trying to stick for a half hour or so before the changeover.
