Probably overdone, but I get the gist that today is just a teaser, Tue/Wed some light snow. Then a end of January storm on the 31st. Beginning of February is LaLa on Euro this run. lol

If I'm getting 25" over the next 10 days Medford should be getting like 8". Just my two cents.

Day 8 Just slide this trough Day 5.5 to 9 east 300 miles and things change very quickly. It's going to happen.

10.6" on the 31st which would be the second snowiest amount in 24 hours I've seen. Next run could differ of course.

If things trend colder that's something! I have gone all of mid January bare.

NW North America becomes one of the iceboxes of the world by hour 200. Hopefully that can be shunted southward.

This block is about to explode, though a lot of cold air is being drained. Should still be enough to create a cold snap of the pattern is right, though.

I'm so hungry for an arctic blast I left my AC on just to get the feeling again, which I then lost in my extremities. 

Now I can't turn it off due to frostbite. I assume that this likely had an effect on the models.

Isn't that the story of every winter in the pnw since 2008? We're always on the cusp of some cold pattern of biblical proportions and suddenly climo takes over and its back to reality, try again next winter.

Just read the 3am AFD from PDX. Looks like they think precip could begin as liquid all the way up to 2500'. Guess we'll find out in the next few hours.
