My Dad keeps sending me pic from Dallas, OR. They have a solid dusting now and starting to stick on the road. I imagine McMinnville will switch to snow here shortly.

Just rechecked. 36 degrees and mostly snow. Precip rates are increasing. So awesome that the heaviest precip so far has started at 1:00 pm. Lovely.

I might be beating a dead donkey at this point but it’s simply amazing that even the world class model the ECMWF was completely out to lunch just 5-6 days before I had snow on the ground with no end in sight!!

  Tahoe through much of the week. Gusts 30-45 mph with wave
  heights of 2 to 5 feet. There may also be periods of thundersnow
  tonight into Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be near impossible or even paralyzed with
  near zero visibility through Friday morning. Very strong winds
  could cause tree damage and power outages. If you risk travel
  over the Sierra passes, you cloud be stuck in your car for
  several hours, if not a day. Cold wind chills as low as 20 below
  zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30
  minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel!
Road crews and first responders may not be able to rescue you.
Stay indoors until the snow and wind subside. Even a short walk
could be deadly if you become disoriented.

You should be in a good spot for some accumulation. Otherwise it’s a toss up with a lean toward things remaining a little too warm.  Should see at least some flakes flying which will be nice.

Yeah... that is pretty crazy for the ECMWF to be that wrong.   That is very rare... it must have been a volatile situation hinging on certain things happening.

Starting to switch to snow in West Salem.

Valley level in Philomath, just west of Corvallis.  Just over an inch and slowing down.  Quite a surprise, no advisories issued for this area.

Thats actually not bad for up here. Big storms give us gust to 110mph or so at lake level and 150mph+ at the resorts

Based on the golf cart, I'd guess it's on Corvallis CC, which looks to be around 330' or so.

35.7 F just switched to moderate snow. 32f dewpoint. Obviously not sticking. 4 miles SW of KAST, 50' elevation, and 1 mile as the crow flies from ocean.
