November 15-17th Snow Prospects

Hoping what is out by Rockford will head straight east as the evening goes on. Looks like borderline +SN out there. 

 

Things turning white quickly here.

Some 35 DBZ's showing near the WI/IL border....

A nice band of big, fluffy dendrites moved through Cedar Rapids an hour or two ago.  My total is currently at 2 inches.

Nice big dendrtites falling...snow accumulating everywhere. Feels very festive out there. Roads are extremely slick without any residual salt on the roads....close to 1/2" and about 1 mile visibility. This snow reminds me of the many powdery systems we had lasy year.

1.5"+ amounts have fallen underneath the heaviest band. Probably about 0.3" here so far.

@Meichel - Snowing at Burlington, WI, so it should not be long now. Nice band setting up near the state line.

Just drove from Lake in the Hills to Deer Park and back. 90 minute round trip. Municipalities being stingy with salt thus far. Literally saw 5x as many tow trucks as salt trucks. Most of the roads are sheer ice. Quentin Road closed south of Lake Cook Road. Good times!

 

Edit: hardest snow I saw was in Deer Park. Grass isn't close to covered IMBY

0.6" here so far. Grass is like half covered up - blades wise. Should be able to get to an inch with this first piece of energy. Hoping the second piece of energy makes it through as well.

 

Racine and Lake Geneva take the top honors so far.

1 inch of snow, 1 car accident (thankfully not me), 1 snow event, with many more to come.

Maybe 0.3" here in Libertyville.... Just some bad luck I guess being in between two heavier bands.

I can tell roads are slick here, just by looking at the people going about 15 mph down the street. Looks like one more shot at moderate snow before scattered light stuff the rest of the night. Models depicting slightly higher amounts in extreme southern WI were right!

I ended up with 2.2" here at millard in Omaha.  Not to bad with how unorganized the snow was earlier this morning.  Anything in November is a bonus in NE.

Andrew... I agree it was slow going at First. I didn't even think it was going to cover the grass at first. The roads were really slick!

Yes things got messy real quick once it got dark out. Roads are slick, but not near as bad as Tuesday morning this last week.  The city has seemed to get there act together from that disaster.

I measured exactly 1 inch here in Buffalo Grove.

2.8" in north liberty. More than I expected. We must have good some decent snow overnight

Ended up with 4" of snow. Way more than I was expecting, overall for being a weak system ended up over achieving for my area!

Just cleaned my driveway and measured 2.8" but it prolly settled some early moring so im thinking atleast 3.0" was a good bet.

Ended up with a whopping 0.4". Nothing but bare grass now. Don't think I've ever been this badly shafted.... kind of unbelievable.

Some light snow showers happening now. Just enough to slicken the side roads up again. Journeyed up to Kenosha today and the ground up there is definitely whiter. Snow piles around too.

 

A little snow manged to hang on through the day.
