Im glad this storm worked out for ya in some way, even though it was not a lot, at least you got to see some appreciable piles and plows around your neck of the woods. FWIW: You did better than my area. I picked up 2.7" and maybe another inch or 2 tomorrow to top it off, so storm total looking like a 3-4inch or so.

Btw: Hope you had a fun trip!

Dang you got a lot more then my area did with this, we got maybe a half inch out here in St Clair county. We did have a few inches on the ground still from the last little disturbance that went through last week so what fell yesterday did fall on top of snow for a change this winter. It’s definitely nice having it look and feel like mid winter for a change.

Definitely!

Note: Was hoping my area can get clipped from that huge EC storm currently, but by looking at the radar, it came close, but no cigar. Detroit is getting it though.

This was a memorable winter storm in a number of different ways but mostly bc of the heavy snowfall rates during the 1st half of the systems life span and then the long lasting duration of the snowfall.  It basically snowed for 24-26 hours straight.  The bonus LES produced a nice layer of powder on top of the denser snow.  I posted my current snow depth in my front yard that is in untouched and free from any drifting.  My mounds are about 6-7’ high and quite wide.  The neighborhood looks stunning with the deep snow pack.

The walk ways are starting to have that “tunnel” look to them.  I always dreamed of living through a winter like my parents did in the late 70’s which had a huge snow pack for days.  Could we be heading that way now?  Only God knows and nature has the final say.

Awesome!  I'm happy to hear that you scored some decent snow out of this system.  It makes sense based off of the radar images I was seeing early yesterday morning.  Isn't nice to see mother nature throw you a bone?  Hopefully that is a sign we are breaking recent season trends and setting new ones as the 2nd half of this delayed season is underway.

Thanks and I'm glad that at last you've broken the drought of 6+ storms for your region buddy. Even better, you didn't "just" break it, you hit dbl digits! I rode the fringe on this one but it certainly was a large storm.

This was by far one of the best storms the EC has seen in 5 years. I saw vids + pics from family and friends that I could not believe my eyes. Everything was buried. Jackpot areas were NE PA, NW Jew Jersey and into NYC and parts of Northern Queens where 18-24" fell. Central Park reported 17.4." Maybe more because more snow fell today. As much as 3ft were reported in nearby areas. Parts of the Midwest did also very good, but no where near as potent as the EC. Anyhow, this was certainly a great storm.

How much did SEMI (my area) get???!!! 2.7" 🤣 "Pathetic"

That's "racist" 🤣 and yeah, SMI is the most pathetic place for a snow-lover this winter.
