We radiated out nicely this morning at the airport. Coldest since 1/22/19. Prior to that goes back to Feb 2015!

Almost topped this list too!

Do you think this is our last accumulating snow of the season?  I think we may have a chance in early Mar, but I think this could be it.

The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

06z GFS sniffing out the next system we will likely be tracking before month's end.  There may be another system to close out the month depending on timing, but at least one more system to cap off THE most memorable Feb in decades.  March is going to open up like a Lion this year as I am expecting to see a SW Flow to open up next month.  Lot's of cutters and the 1st one will prob be a Big Dog.

ORD had a dry day yesterday so the 9-day record tying streak of measurable snow will come to an end.  It would have been nice to extend this streak one more day to make history.  Who's going to complain?  Meantime, guess what, it's snowing again.  As I look out my window, the snow falling peacefully and the flakes are mod sized.  It is a sight to see as the flakes are creating a twinkle as they fall down caused by the street light on my street.  A picturesque nighttime sight as I already have a coating OTG.

Always bittersweet after an event like this past week. Was pretty exciting to experience and this 10 day stretch of cold has rivaled anything you could hope to see in any year ever. Parts of TX getting snow and sitting under a -38° deviation from average would agree. A week of winter in Southern Arkansas and Louisiana won't be forgotten for a generation.

Not all winters/events are "epic" and shocking for their quick stats and specs. Some you just have to live them to appreciate them.

Dropped off my sister at ORD and seeing some beautiful LES.  Sun peaking through intermittent snow squalls.  Gorgeous morning!

Nice morning out with flakes flying. Lake has really been good to us this year and probably will continue the rest of the month.

This is pure beauty.  Radar has exploded over N Cook.  Viz has dropped as I made it up to my place a few miles north of ORD.  Fatties flying and barely any wind.   Snow globe in full effect.  18F with moderate snow.  Doesn’t get any better.

We are now entering the last full week of meteorological winter and while most of this winter has been mild in reality there have not been all that many warm winter days. Did you know that as of today the warmest it has been this meteorological winter has been 53 and since Christmas the highest it has been is just 41. And so far this February the warmest it has been is just 37. On average the warmest day in December is 53 January 48 and February 50. The mean so far this meteorological winter at Grand Rapids this winter is now at 25.5° The average mean for the 3 months is 25.6° The coldest low this winter at Grand Rapids will be -12 and the annual average lowest reading is -7. The deepest snow depth looks to be 14” that average deepest snow depth at Grand Rapids is 11” Now it is true that this winter looks to end up well below average in the snow fall department and it looks to end up well below that average winter in days of 1” or more of snow cover at this time this year is at 46 days. Average at this date should be 54. Note for the year the average number of days with at least 1” of snow cover at Grand Rapids is 70.

Great video!

I’m tickled with excitement to see this surprise.  I wasn’t expecting anything near this intensity.  Almost closing in on 2” and coming down as hard as it’s been.  If this band stays put, I could see 4” out of this today.

Strange how I could see vid 1 but not vid 2 on my phone. I rarely can see when Peeps upload any vids. Was there a format diff?

There have been many overperformers this month. Modeling on this one was not even close

No, I uploaded from my iPhone 12...not sure why you can’t see the other vid.  On a side note, this phone produces some awesome quality pics/vids.  I especially like the slow-mo option on days like today.

It really was a treat this morning in southern lake county. Fat flakes were slowly falling from the sky.

I probably got two inches of pure fluff but the sun is out and it is already melting. I see on radar there is action to the west, hope it fills back towards me

As @Tonysaid the lake has been nice this year. Maybe having a warm early winter is good in the long run as it keeps the lake from freezing over

Snowpack is still around 9-13" deep in most spots. KLNK was 15" for several days (lower now I believe), but I dont think it was that high here for more than a few hrs due to sublimation.

1.2" on the day here. Mostly mega-fluff this evening/night. Very sparkling tho and some light pillars were faint but noticeable too.
