Looks like a hard frost next Monday night on this run.  Lots of low to mid 20s being shown.  Surface gradients look extremely favorable for max cooling.

I almost get the sense that we're going to see more improvements now that we're talking Day 3-6 and not Day 7+ We Just need the cut-off to head south to Hawaii, build heights further west, and pull the base of the trough around. Not impossible.

I'm starting to get stoked now.

Tuesday looks beautiful on this run... frosty morning and mostly sunny afternoon.

No cold air whatsoever west of the Rockies.

First warm February since 2016?

I doubt that... but foothill warmth showing up by Wednesday on this run.

I remember that one, even though I was in the banana belt of Gladstone at the time.  Was very wet, with snow mixed quite often.  Surely you scored big over there.

I was over in Coeur d'Alene. We did pretty well. Of course after January 1st it was el scorcho time.

The 00Z ECMWF is about as bad as it gets for cold and snow at that point... GOA troughing and huge trough in the SE with arctic moving into Atlanta.

Snowed late this afternoon, just a dusting. The next shower around 7p was 100% rain. This current shower started as rain turned to snow, no accumulation.

Just stepped out and it is coming down moderately right now. Plenty of moisture to the west still, but has been very sporadic so far tonight over here along the foothills. I suspect if we get steady moderate precip, we will start to see accumulations. Either way, all kidding aside, I am not to invested in this one, anything we get will be a nice bonus.

It is really pouring here right now and the radar looks pretty healthy. Gotta think you will see some accumulation over the next couple of hours.
