At least the EPS is working on Weatherbell.  Colder than either the 12z or 18z at day 5.

Oh, and BTW, both deterministic and statistical guidance is picking up on yet another -NAO cycle for late February.

Then the entire system retrogrades to -PNA/canonical niña for March.

Winter’s gonna be with us for awhile.

Looks like the EPS ensemble mean and control go basically the same place as the operational.  Going to be fun watching the models tomorrow.

Your getting old man! Cautiously optimistic

I’m definitely not 18 anymore lol. Used to be able to pull all nighters without side effects. Now I actually feel it the next day.

We may have to rename the Korean to the "Yakisoba" model, but probably because that's what I had for my Birthday dinner. Yeah....

Just want to point out Yakisoba is a Japanese dish. Not Korean, but I get the drift.

Stolen from my group. Korean model says it's time for the PNW to re-write the weather history books

May be an image of map

GEM is close to that.  I've never seen the models struggle so big with an event so close.  At least all roads point to cold for PDX northward right now.

Euro shows 5 consecutive sub 30 days here...and a decent amount of snow over several days. IF that verifies that would be better than any cold snap I’ve seen in my lifetime. December 2008 only had 2 sub 30 highs and have never had any more than that in any month. Pretty incredible stuff.

If I'm gonna eat cheap noodles this is good stuff. High in sodium but worth it.

My firm prediction is looking pretty solid right now.  At least 3 max temps of 35 or below for both SEA and PDX during this event.  Sounds kind of tame after seeing tonight's runs!
