That's one of the main things I'm watching as well. Ridge is building slightly better in AK and cold is digging very slightly further SW in BC.

All good signs. Especially since the 0z was already significantly colder than the 18z.

-NAO/-PNA block merger forming soon, this will be a major component into how far SW the cold is driven. So far looks healthier.

Still...nervous. It's been a bust of a winter and this kind of action could completely save it.

6z has 510 thicknesses in Everett at hour 108. The 0z was at 522 at the same time.

It actually looks like this thing is a massive omega that's kind of tilted on more of a NE to SW axis.  Never seen anything like it.

Wow... And it could get colder. I am very much looking forward to potentially the first sub-30 highs in over a decade. It's been way too long.

Wow. OTH-GEG of -28mb !!!! -22mb is the threshold for downslope wind storms
