Key word for today “uncertainty”.

At least were on the doorstep of this playing out.  Glad to see the snow in the CZ as that’s at least a positive indicator of wintery lowland weather.

Good Lord... the ICON is horrible.   It's about 1,500 miles north with that system later in the week compared to yesterday.

12z ICON is snowy for PDX, but the low is further north. Strong east wind helps us get cold enough.

06Z ECMWF was much drier for Thursday.

Gotta feeling this month will spread the wealth. All the way down in Redding they recently had a storm and resulted in lots of accidents.

The ridge MIGHT be a bit 'wider' which would slightly delay the low pressure undercutting it merging with the arctic trough. That would be good.

Looks Like Spokane may get the shaft based on a number of recent runs. Going to be bitter cold though  at this point with highs in the teens. I have never experienced highs that cold. I am pumped, even if we get very little to no snow.

Interesting that cut-off is racing northward nearly dissipating may not be a big of a factor?

Currently 32 degrees and foggy. While driving to work I notice some drizzle too. The past few days the fog have been lingering longer than usual typically clearing around 1pm or so.

Also seeing signs the arctic trough may elongate cutting off too far north. I hope not.

Looks like Portland Nws is already noticing this will be a non event. Hopefully at least Puget Sound area gets some flakes. Probably a February 2017 situation where a lot of it falls as wet 33 degree rain snow mix.

Seems most of us will be banking any snow on the late week system. 

Models like to push things back. I was supposed to get snowstorms around my Bday, beginning of 2021,
