Sweet! Sounds like we're going to be in this until early afternoon. Winds finally really died down, and humidity is a 100%. Time to really pile this Sh!t up!

West side of Olympia as of 7 PM is up to approximately 5 inches and still snowing steadily.

I've been a part of several weather forums for the past 15 years and they more or less run the same. There is discussion among individuals with a large range in knowledge about weather and then there'

My front door in Troutdale this morning. Last night was incredible with 45-55 mph gusts for many hours. I'm on a hill around 300' directly facing east.

24F and heavy snow here, absolutely dumping and accumulating fast. Sitting next to the fire and watching it all fall. I could get used to this. Might have to go grab a glass of wine or some bourbon or something.

Looks like a major area of moderate / heavy precip on the coastal radar now.  Quite the moisture plume!  Now that we have high humidity values the incoming stuff should really rock!

This gradient coming up the WV is nuts. Pushing 50F here and down in Creswell, Cottage Grove, Dexter/Lowell area.

Meanwhile it's still 30F in Corvallis.

I remember things like that in 2004. Portland stayed in the icebox for days while not much further south it was in the fifties.

Down to 22.8 here. Amazing to be approaching the lowest temp of the past year (I know, not saying a whole lot) with heavy snow falling.

Almost like a dream how low these temps are getting.  Nice event!

It's been snowing at a constant very light rate now for 3 hours and I have less than 1/4th inch.  Not exactly historic here. 🙄

Getting reports that large portions of Marion and Clackamas Counties are completely without power. Sleeting super heavily here, with massive wind gusts.

Just measured 1.5" of fine powdery snow here. Went for like a 3 mile walk and just got back.

Radar looking really good for all of Western Washington. NWS forecast is going to bust low for most places East of the Sound. They were only forecasting 2-3" total for Everett and that's going to be comically bad.

It's been 50 in Roseburg all day, and the dividing line has been moving northward at a leisurely walking pace.  I've been at exactly 31.6 for the past two hours - long enough to find out where ice accumulates at ever-so-slightly below freezing.  This whole event has been remarkably stagnant while the winds are whipping elsewhere.

The front arriving in the next couple of hours should finally give this valley cold pool a kick in the pants.

About 4 inches here and it is moderate to heavy now.
