West side of Olympia as of 7 PM is up to approximately 5 inches and still snowing steadily.

My front door in Troutdale this morning. Last night was incredible with 45-55 mph gusts for many hours. I'm on a hill around 300' directly facing east.

Not much longer til the eastern warm nose reaches the SE metro. Oregon City and Wilsonville getting the backfill from that and then the icebox shoves the flow back south around the old remains of Champoeg and it's completely frozen from there on west to the coast range down to about Monroe.

NAM is beyond worthless. Definitely initialized too warm and looks like a little north with the low, which may be centralizing down where the GFS had had it off of OR.

The 00z run had SLE at 38 with a SE wind at 1am. In reality they are 30 with a strong NE wind and pouring ZR.

Latest walk was fun, moderate snow, a bit of sleet and temp has dropped back to 26°.  I honestly don't think I will know exactly what the exact totals will be from this storm due to the unrelenting east wind but I am confident that we have seen at least 6" of new snow today, so far.

That circulation near the Oregon coast appears to be a mid level vortex. The surface low is still a bit off shore and is coming into view on long range radar.

Radar looks a little anaemic up here (except for that one big band), but it's really hard to tell because of this radar issue. Complete lack of data in that line north of Oak Harbor.

Oh, well. 1.25" on last measurement. Probably will head to bed for a bit and hope the big stuff comes in during the morning hours.

Surface front is onshore Coos Bay and Florence, probably crossing Newport right now.  Will be interesting to see if that can start to mix out the valley inversion as shown in some models.  Still dead stable in Corvallis, up 0.4 degrees since 8 pm.

Not sure how accurate it is but Ventusky is showing it being held up at the coast range pretty good still. Freezing line is between Monroe and CVO so it should start getting above freezing there in another hour or so. The city of Corvallis and Philomath proper might take longer.

Just measured 3.75" here in North Seattle with steady snow continuing to fall. 24 degrees out so It's pretty incredible out with the wind whipping the dry snow around into drifts. This is special stuff.

Last time I had steady snow and 24 degrees was in November 2010 I believe.  5.5 inches here.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Wow. Wind is absolutely ripping here. Definitely nearing peak. That heavier band went over and I didn't really notice a difference in flakes. Assuming east wind is doing it's thing.

It's a little weird walking out there... Not used to seeing the snow not cake all the trees and create uniform accumulations. Totals are all over the place. T-7 inches are the measurements I found, depending on the spot's access to the winds. You can walk down the road and tell when the wind is about to hit just from one part of the road being bare and the next having 2.5-4 inches. Funky looking.

Hoping when east winds subside around 7AM or so we can get a bit more normal snowfall. Kid is dying to go sledding and it's hard to do that when half the hill is bare and the other has 5 inches on it.

I did find these cool ripples in the snow. Thought that was pretty neat.

I took a 3 hour nap so I could watch the snow tonight.  It's still a snowglobe here in Lake Tapps.  Pure powder and drifts.  The wind is definitely affecting accumulation but it's really neat to watch this type of snow swirl and blow.  We are still really gusty.
