Just measured 5.25" here in North Seattle and flakes are by far the biggest they've been all night.

@TT-SEA how does the 6z Euro look for this afternoon?

What’s your temp?

I've been a part of several weather forums for the past 15 years and they more or less run the same. There is discussion among individuals with a large range in knowledge about weather and then there'

West side of Olympia as of 7 PM is up to approximately 5 inches and still snowing steadily.

My front door in Troutdale this morning. Last night was incredible with 45-55 mph gusts for many hours. I'm on a hill around 300' directly facing east.

Just under 3” here in Marysville and still just seeing the real light fairy dust snow. Was hoping to have seen the snow pick up but seems to be getting killed by the wind looking at the radar. The good precip getting held up more south of here?

East winds dying down at SEA and snowfall increasing accordingly.

They were gusting over 30 mph a couple hours ago and seeing less than 0.05" per hour and now are reporting 14 mph with 0.19" in the last two hours. They must be approaching 6" now because they had 2.2" at midnight.

Side note... you originally asked for tomorrow afternoon but you were probably thinking that was Saturday since you haven't slept!    I read tomorrow as Sunday since I just woke up for Saturday.   :)

Does anybody smarter than me know/expect that gap hole thing to fill in with the better moisture down south eventually or what?

Looks like it's working its way North on the radar. The band over Seattle should increase rates for Everett in the next hour or so. The orientation of the outflow might be favoring more downslope in Snohomish than King County. Winds have been cut in half at SEA the last couple hours but are still blowing pretty steady at KPAE.

You are correct! I can't sleep with a once in a decade storm taking place.

20 degrees here with a dewpoint of 17... air mass is much more moist now despite the east wind still raging so the snow is coming down a good clip.

8 inches here so far. Really played out here so far totally different then I thought it would. I need to learn and study this storm to know how we didn't get much upslope effect from the offshore flow. It must of been to shallow of winds. We should get a few hrs of heavy snow with the wrap around band slamming the Olympics.

I am pretty sure its snowing hard down in North Bend now too!     This is a screen shot of a live video... but what you can't see in this still picture is the trees in the foreground bending back and forth in the roaring east wind.

Based on the coastal radar loop... you can see the center of the low coming ashore now just north of Hoquiam.

Just woke up for a bit to go outside and measure. About 2.4", which still looks to be about on par (or the slightest bit below) with what the Euro, GFS, and NAM had during this time. The snow intensity (and the winds) have picked up in the last hour or so.

Oh, and about an hour ago we finally got the WSW from the NWS. Should bypass their earlier estimate in the next hour.

Got more sleep than some of you, but did get up twice in the night to check on things.  So much fun to have this much snow and not worry about it turning to rain. Probably have around 7 inches.

It seems like the column finally supports snow here again. It must have just changed because there is only a very slight dusting on top of the ice. Moisture is drying up though and it is just a light flurry at the moment.

Out in Ravensdale, the wind has been very strong all night and snow almost impossible to measure. Snow drifts 3 ft plus and the east wind has not seemed to impact snow totals much if any here. Been floating between 17-20 degrees all night but now power is out. Wind is still ripping hard here

That’s the vehicle I’m currently researching (4Runner)!!  Gotta love the east winds and blowing snow!  Sucks about the power :(

Woke up to check on things. Still getting very fine flakes. Seems winds have died down a fair amount. Pretty sure we had a gust to 55-60mph+ at one point. Woke us up and sounded like the house was going to be torn right off the foundation.

Hard to get any accurate measurement but I'll try here in a little while. Still hoping we can stack it up more uniformly now that the east wind has died.

Although, I was expecting to wake up to a nice looking radar but it looks a little weak and disorganized. We shall see.

I see others reporting the east wind has let up for them. I hope that happens for us soon but yet to see it here. This has not been 2019 for me as we had 35”+ from that storm (multiple events) but a very impressive and stormy night. Thankful we wired the house for plug-in generator.

The low is still offshore but about where you show it. Looks to be heeded directly east almost northeast. Which is what the recent ecmwf shows. The next low out off of Vancouver swings SW and then the next low is the one that really breaks our cold out by punching north through Southern BC.
