This doesn't seem right...

I have a pretty bad view of it and the colors aren't clearly defined on Tropical Tidbits, but it's definitely less than 6" near SEA (and looks around 4", maybe 5" to me). Of course I don't think it's going to verify, but it's what it shows.

West side of Olympia as of 7 PM is up to approximately 5 inches and still snowing steadily.

My front door in Troutdale this morning. Last night was incredible with 45-55 mph gusts for many hours. I'm on a hill around 300' directly facing east.

That 21/-2 with NE winds gusting to 39 at BLI is impressive.

My condo is shuddering in the gusts. Thankfully there is underground electric in this neighborhood so I don't have to worry about losing power and heat.

On the other hand the hi-res GFS (or new version, or whatever) finally got going after being stuck at 90 hours and it looks great for next week! Snow keeps going until at least Wednesday morning. Looks kind of like the 18z GFS from yesterday.

Interesting, showing 4-6" here now. We weren't even close to snow yesterday when people were posting this.

Snow is starting to mix in with freezing rain here. Getting good icicle formation on everything!

I don't remember any snow event starting as freezing rain like this.

Did a little experiment, drove up the hill from my south, it is very south exposed and made it up to 1300’ and it was plain rain and 32f. Back down to my house which is in the north facing canyon at 100’ and there was snow mixed in here.  Did not see a positive splat up there.

Already down to 34 here. A couple degrees colder than I was expecting at this stage.

Pretty surreal how this event has trended in the immediate lead up. I'm looking outside wondering when I might see bare ground again.

Temps out here seem to be heading down again after levelling off for a little while... dewpoint is dropping as well. Must be colder air filtering in again from the Gorge.

Realistically anything 45 or under with minimal south wind or heavy rain interference should be pretty ideal for keeping things white awhile. 10ish days is a real possibility.

Still just getting some light flurries here. I’m thinking it’ll probably be a couple hours before we actually get some heavier precip and get some sticking snow. Looks like accumulating snow has made it as far north as chehalis at this point.

I will gladly take some flurries at this point.

All this tracking - I need some results, however little those results are!

Totally agree... even at this time of year with increasing sun angles.   As long as we avoid a strong S or SW wind and a vigorous frontal system then a foot of snow can last a long time.

It's really upside down.  Usually we have the cold air in place and warmer moist air coming in over the top.  This is just the opposite.  The wedge of cold air is deepening rather than eroding.  Going to be a crazy day.

I’m pretty sure most of us south of Seattle get 1-2” today! But you’re right still nice to see those flurries coming down.

Most of the precip appears to be focused on and north of that arctic frontal boundary... I'm wondering if we even have much in the way of precip here today at all.

I'll be damned if that third storm isn't looking good for snow now.  I was glad to see the 6z ECMWF bought off on it too.  12z GFS is awesome on that one.

Currently 34 with a pretty good east wind blowing here.
