My front door in Troutdale this morning. Last night was incredible with 45-55 mph gusts for many hours. I'm on a hill around 300' directly facing east.

Time to call it a night. Good luck for those getting snow. Hanging around 30-31 here with rain, freezing on elevated surfaces, but it is not to bad yet. Hoping things aren't to big of a mess down in Salem tomorrow.

Seems like enough cold air is entrenched that Portland will have some wiggle room even if the low heads a bit more north.

Once again better than I thought it would be today in north seattle.  Pretty much snow in the air all day today. Ended up with about an 1-2” over everything and still snowing.  Got a good start to a base in pre for tomorrow night.

Still a few flakes falling in Tacoma. Most side-roads covered. Can’t wait to watch tomorrow unfold with all of you ❤️

Hoping you guys score big up there. Bring that low in at the mouth of the Columbia and get lots of snow for NW OR and western WA at the same time.

Seems like a minor perturbation in precip rates, likely a tiny bit more snow in Seattle and Portland. Nothing fundamentally different, save for the low being maybe, I don't know, fifteen miles south and a single millibar shallower? Pretty much the exact same. Big storm potential.

Significant jump in snow totals by 4:00am for the Puget Sound on the 06z Euro compared to the 00z. This northward movement will also likely increase temperatures Saturday afternoon, but regardless the increase in snowfall totals is encouraging to see.

Saturday afternoon, after the snow has finished falling. An increase in totals by about a third; large enough to dismiss the idea of a simple "waffling", especially when taking into account that nearly all regional models have increased their totals on the 06z suite. Likely more than this would accumulate in this scenario due to increased snowfall ratios.

Actually, hold that initial thought, this is new... The Euro wants to keep high temperatures around freezing from Seattle northward on Saturday. Previous runs brought in a warm nose and ended the easterlies, warming the area into the low 40's.

Ya, our little area did quite well with continuous snow and still snowing.  Just light stuff.  Still nice though.  I see we have the Winter Weather Warning posted as well.   shot of my area currently 28*

Good morning and happy lunar new year! When I left Bonney Lake this morning at 4am we had about an inch of snow and a flurry happening. It was 27 degrees. The roads were okay. Once I dropped down the hill into the valley there wasn't much of anything. I look forward to seeing how the day unfolds. Could be an interesting commute back home. Take care and stay safe everyone!

This could be the historic event Jim has waited for for a long time.

I was disappointed yesterday that only a trace fell here in the swamp.

On top of that, I really wanted an arctic blast and this is not that.  It's 29 degrees this morning and there was no howling north or east wind.  I miss those events.  Nonetheless it looks like a big snow dump for most is inbound and that should be a lot of fun, especially since it is happening on a weekend day so it won't be as disruptive as a work day.

Snowmonsters or bust!

Looks like some little pixie dust snow is still falling here this morning. It changed to all snow around midnight. Haven’t measured, but looks like an inch and a half of snow, but everything is iced over and covered at 27 degrees. Beautiful!
