Nice!

My brother in law lives at the south end of Lincoln Park. It’s a white out down there. This is overlooking the lake:

no idea why it shows upside down here. 😂

DVN's snow forecast graphic only has 1-2" for Burlington to the Quad Cities, but all the models have 4-5"... a real nice surprise for that area.  I may see a dusting.  I'd rather get nothing than have to shovel a few tenths.

I feel confident enough that you will go to a WSW as well by afternoon. If ya don't, then, that will be weird by GRR office, as your area is in for some hvy snow as well.

This lake plume is nasty!   Nearly zero viz in downtown Chicago with whiteout conditions.

Grizz's comment about 1899-like obs in the deep south reminded me of a post I made back in the lame days of December that Chicago could experience either of the historic '99's (1899 for CAD and 1999 for massive Bliz). Had never occurred to me that y'all might get BOTH! With all the current snow OTG, this could be huge like your own version of Jan '78. You weren't kidding when you posted about a "dream pattern" via the blocking. Certainly seems to be coming to fruition there just as you envisioned. Congrats and enjoy every minute of it!

Amounts exceeding 14 inches becoming likely by just tomorrow morning. I don’t think this is supposed to wrap up until Tuesday afternoon, so this could become a top 5’er if everything hits like it looks like it can.

Thank you my friend!  I'm in awe and thankful every day when I get up and witness such a deep beautiful snow pack.  On the way to the gym this morning, driving along snow covered roads with powder flying sideways, I couldn't help but think back what I envisioned this pattern to be like.  I'll be honest, in no way did I think we would have so many snow on snow events and witness many days with temps in the single digits and snow falling.  It has really been a memorable stretch of winter.  If we get anything close to what the models are showing for this storm, it will def look like the days of the late 70's where the city had piles upon piles of snow.  I'm tickled with excitement and eager to see how this all plays out!

Looks like multiple bands are now showing up on radar. This should help in areal coverage and spread the wealth around multiple areas compared to just a single band. At the very least lake enhancement should be prime as we get going this afternoon into tomorrow.

Downtown got hit pretty good with the first band it looks like.

Wowza!  This could be THE best LES event in Chicago's history if those 14" totals show up.

The late 70's was so amazing and this stretch we have had and this upcoming week will look a little like that. Really getting excited to say the least. Good luck to all and hope to being buried under mounds of snow.

getting light to moderate snow here in Lawrence ks. We are at 3.5-3.75 inches now with another 1 inch possible with the bands from the deformation band. snow is blowing and drifting so it makes it a little hard to measure

Glad your getting some snow, hope we get a little more Wednesday.
