This area is very diverse.  I was on the north side of Maple Valley tonight and there was a quarter inch of snow, here it was hail / snow mix.  I imagine the places that got more are more east or northeast of here.

This is the closest the zone has been to my house since I've lived here. 17 years.

It does hit here from time to time.  I wish the atmosphere had been just a tad colder.

Wow!  I'm surprised this late in the game.  Might be a shot for somebody to pick up some more frozen precip.

30F. We had some wet snow and graupel this afternoon. Accumulations were mostly above 750 feet or so.

We had a fairly heavy hail shower in Victoria this afternoon with that convective convergence coming down the island, enough to cover roofs/grass and some of the road. It dropped the temperature from 49F to 36F in under an hour and because it happened end of day things never really warmed up afterwards. Currently 35F, it's going to be icy in the morning.

10 feet of snow at Snoqualmie Pass.

Love these pics! They remind me of my first visit to WA back in '03 or '04. We went over Snoqualmie pass to Roslyn (big Northern Exposure family) and I remember being absolutely dumbfounded at the height of the snow banks and all the snow on top of that pancake restaurant. It was really cool seeing those pics on reddit earlier today because for the longest time i thought i had made up the memory of it being a pancake restaurant because i didn't know it was up there after driving the pass dozens of times as an adult. Sorry for the ramble but those pics had me pleasantly nostalgic this morning.

Enumclaw is great in some situations and horrible in others.  Usually if it involves onshore flow they do very well.

I still have decent coating of hail / snow on the ground and it's starting to freeze up with clearing skies.  It's going to look like winter in the morning.

I also see it is snowing in Tacoma and Bonney lake. This is a nice little event.

The regular GFS was kind of an outlier as early as day 5 or 6.  That little clipperesque trough is totally ruined on that model and there on all the others.  The pattern in the 6 to 10 day period is delicate and the models are going to really struggle with it.

A little consolation prize for what happened with the last event.

Well I dunno about you but it's pretty hard to have Artic air without any actual Artic air around.  :)  As much as I hate it I was expecting the other shoe to drop.  That's why I don't solely rely on computers to tell me the weather or I'd be taken for a ride all the time.

How far north? That doesn't really say much.  North of you? Portland? Seattle?

It's along the lines like saying "Looks like some precipitation to the west' does that mean west of Salem? The coastline or way out in the Pacific that will never reach here? :)

The system coming in Thursday/Friday is going to really slam the Cascades and Blue Mountains. Then it looks like a really nice couple of days.
