Hillsboro already got to 50. Looks like a shower passed through and took them down to 46 though.

Average high for this date is 52.

Glad we’re heading to the mountains later 🤗

Amazing how much traffic on this page has slowed. I guess not a lot of folks share my passion for early spring troughs and 1500' snow levels.

Definitely predictable, but still amazing to see 1 page last 8 hours, whereas 8 hours would be consuming 15 pages two weeks ago today.

To be fair there isn't anything of heightened interest in the believable range still. Looks pretty benign the next 10 days.

I'm as big of a fan of graupel showers as anybody, though.

Meh... long way to go for something meaningful.   Could happen but its not in sight yet which is why its not that active here.

Here is the 12Z EPS for March 5-10:

There are probably only 10-15 of us who post regularly 12 months a year. Until about 5 years ago I did not post often in the summer.

I’m super excited right now, was able to get a few days off of work...going to orcas island March 1st-3rd! Checked the trail reports and there’s over 3’ of snow up at mount constitution. Looks like that trough early next week could deliver another nice round of snow while I’m up there. Super excited to get up there and see some major snow and get some epic photos. Will definitely post them here.

Think this is Tuesday morning (correct me if I’m wrong)...but that front should really deliver some nice snow up at 2000’ on the mountain.

I'd be surprised if there's still that much up there. I was up at about 2,800 ft yesterday in Whatcom county and most of the 2+ feet of snow that was up there on Friday had disappeared. Of course Constitution is probably getting some today and the next few days so you'll have to let us know how much is up there when you go!

When I checked on the all trails association as of 5 days ago the person reporting said there was over 3’ on top. I’d imagine they’ve still got quite a bit and they will definitely get more when I’m up there.

51 at PDX today thanks to those ill timed sunbreaks earlier. Could have easily had a high in the mid-upper 40s if that area of showers had moved in an hour or so earlier. Oh well. 😞

49/37 day here. Some very vigorous showers this afternoon. One dropped the temp to 41 around 3pm.

Yeah I really enjoy following the weather all year long here too. I think I post as much if not more during the warm season than the cold season. Sometimes during the busy times here in the winter I will take a step back more.

Weathers interesting in this climate all year long...obviously more so in the cold season. We can still get pretty interesting weather in the warm season like big rainstorms or thunderstorms. IMO as long as it’s not constant record breaking heat tracking extreme heat waves are pretty cool too as long as they don’t stick around too long.

My enthusiasm for heat has waned as I’ve gotten older but my irrational desire to have it snow has persisted. I do look forward to sunny summer days, just prefer the boring pnw summer perfection to anomalous heat.

Makes me happy because on the GEM and GFSv16 it’s a nice shot of snow up here. Though the midday frontal passage would probably limit accumulation.
